Reading fiction is not a waste of time because sometimes fiction could be something that happened before, but sometimes fiction could be magical with fairytales. But what I think is that no matter if it’s fiction and magical or if it’s fiction and magical or if it’s fiction and it could happen,it could teach anybody something. If someone goes through some kind of pain fictional book helps to forget about the pain. Sometimes when it’s fiction and there’s fairytales there could be some facts about nature or about life. I bet there are a lot of books that at least gave someone advise or at least made someone tell themselves “Huh that is true.” Fiction books can teach anyone valuable lessons. For example,if someone is going through a death in a family, they could read fiction so they could forget about the pain their going through, and read fiction so it can bring you to your own imaginary world. Kids should read fiction because fiction is fake sometimes, but sometimes it could be real, like realistic fiction. Mostly people read realistic fiction because you could actually learn something. Another example is in the book “The boy and striped pajamas” it didn’t actually happen but it’s an example that something like this maybe happened. Most fiction books are comics. It could be a normal book but …show more content…
In my belief I think imagination is very important in life. Why? Because you use imagination everywhere you go. Sometimes imagination helps your down feelings. When your feeling down you need your imagination. Because it brings you into a different world without worry, without death, and without sadness. When you have a dream, you can’t control it but it has imagination in it. Imagination doesn’t have to be fiction it could always be realistic. You can use imagination anywhere you go. For example work, school, public, and more. That’s why reading fiction helps a lot in
Fiction is needed to develop other forms of thinking and to expand creativity. Fiction novels could help students view things from different perspectives. It may help us in a similar situation from the book for example,in the book “The hate u give “ by Angie Thomas there is a situation with police brutality and the way he handled it can inspire others to do the same or we could see where it went wrong and not do that. A young African American male is shot and killed by a white policeman. Garden Heights residents come together in the face of unspeakable tragedy which reflects the strong sense of community felt by those who live in Garden Heights.
In addition, going back to the first paragraph, this book could change someone’s life. “‘There must be something in books, things we can’t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don’t stay for nothing” (Bradbury 48). In the book, a woman is caught with books and her house gets burned down but she refuses to live on without her books. That shows that books can change lives and have very important and impactful messages in them.
Non fiction novels are great ways to make people aware of real life issues that happen everyday. People face poverty issues, racial issues, and environmental issues everyday of their life and are affected more than others. For example the environment is affected because of the different things people do in their everyday lives, like things that deal with fossil fuels and gas. Another example is race and how people are treated because of their specific race or religion. Issues like these are happening all around the world and most likely can be found in a nearby non-fiction novel.
Fiction and novels should have place in the curriculum they have themes and conflicts is relevant to the world readers just needs to pay close attention to
Since a novel is more enjoyable than a factual text the novel can influence the readers understanding of history. “Happy-ever-after is a fairy-tale notion, not history. I know of no woman who escaped
Is Robert Penn Warren’s claim that fiction makes us feel significant in our everyday lives accurate? Warren believes that fiction can fulfill a person’s wants and desires. Robert Penn Warren’s claim that fiction makes people feel significant is accurate. NEED MORE. People who read fiction are able to gain a sense of significance by living vicariously through characters within the piece of fiction they are reading.
In the very first paragraph Rao mentions a the conversations she had with two different people, the first person say “I never read fiction” and “After what 's the point of a book if it doesn 't teach you anything.” Another person says “Fiction is not real, no?” and adds “I only like to read real stories to improve myself.” She states that many young people don 't see the benefit in read unless its to help improve themselves, or to ace a job interview. According to Rao the “modern attitude
It can allow people to form their own opinions on different subjects. We gain our knowledge from books so they are looked at like something dangerous in a sense. Bradbury uses a quote “A book is a loaded gun” which re enforces that books are bad. The reason why there looked at as a “loaded gun” because the books give you so many opportunities to learn tons of information. When you are educated you start to question things.
Fiction books can have a great impact with their readers by talking about what happens in our society. Secondly reading fiction books is really beneficial because it helps you be more knowledgeable. There are more than 15,000 gang homicides across the United States. Luis, pg. 83, “ she was just too tired pulling me out of jail cells, of getting reports from school about the fights i’d been in, of expecting a call from a hospital or morgue “. This issue is relevant to the world because it can save someone's life and it prevents readers to getting involve with bad things.
We learn how to read and write from books, we practice skills and teach ourselves from books. Not a year in my education has gone by without a book or several being part of the curriculum. In ninth grade I read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The novel changed my view of the importance and need for books, because it showed the horror and devastation of a world without them.
Banning books has a negative effect on children and deprives them from fueling their mind and not preparing them for the real world ahead of them. Banned books can have positive message on life and can teach children lessons about the world around them. It is not good for children to grow up and not know what the real world is like, because they would not know how to handle life on their own because they were being protected from all the bad things in life. People like to do what, in their opinions, is good for their children, even when sometimes they are hurting them more than helping them. Some books do have profanity in them which children really should not read.
Science has proven that reading can provoke positive changes in us as human beings. Annie Murphy Paul is the author of the article ‘Your Brain on Fiction’ published on March 17, 2012. Annie explains how researchers have discovered that reading can initiate different parts of the brain, this is the reason why sometimes literature can make the reader so engaged and attached to a piece of writing. Research also explains how reading has the ability to produce activity in our brain’s motor cortex. Finally, Annie explains how reading fictional pieces can change how you interact with other individuals.
Books I think are powerful. Books contain so much more than just the story it 's a mindset, and by reading different books, I feel we can be alike in some ways but completely different from others. We will always have likes and dislikes, but once we start to read a book I think we can go in with an open mind set and when we finish, or if we don 't we have are own opinion. A different mindset from everybody else, and that 's extraordinary. That should say something to people and I don’t understand how some people don’t see
Literature is a mirror of society. It has thousands of threads which can weave the beautiful piece of art. Each thread has its own importance in the creative work. In the same way there are different types of narrative techniques for the narration of literature. Realism, in literature, is an approach that attempts to describe life without idealization or romantic subjectivity.
It is like this that books expand our knowledge, conception and consciousness of the world around us. You may say that nowadays there are other ways to do that, like the TV or Google, but books allow you to experience the same story form your own perspective, values, ideas and from your own feelings. Through reading, you introduce yourself to new things, new information, and even new ways to solve a problem. Secondly, reading helps us to
