(1) While all articles are important not all of them have the same significance as others. My top ten most important articles in the Texas Bill of Rights are Articles 29, 28, 26, 19, 3, 8, 27, 6, 24, 32. Listed from most important to least important. I chose article 29 as my most important article because it states that no governmental power can deny the Texas Bill of rights and therefore cannot be violated or ignored. This specific article stood out to me because it keeps the government from making decisions freely without the justification of anyone. By having the Texas Bill of Rights, it keeps the rights of the people safe and unaffected by the government and keeps the Texans rights justified. Article 28 is my second most important article …show more content…
This particular article is important because it allows the people of Texas to have a choice in what they want, for example medical care. The people of Texas can choose their medical companies based on convenience rather than everyone having the same medical care, and making an overpowered monopolistic company that has control over all the medical care. Article 19 talks about the negation of life, liberty and property. While many situations may occur one in particular stands out to me. This article is my number four in importance because there's certain people who do not take medical assistance due to religion or other personal beliefs. Some deny medical help especially in children who have no word against their parents. Article 19 helps this situation because it provides medical assistance to children who are in need. In my opinion this article protects the lives of individuals, but also invades personal belief. Article 3 is the article that specifies that all men have equal rights and no individual has more privileges than others, and the law treats everyone …show more content…
Bill of rights should add articles 26, 19, 22. I beleive article 26 should be added because it talks of not having monopolies. This can help in the prevention of overpowered industries with total control in major society areas like medicine and food industries. Article 19 should also get added to the U.S. Bill of Rights because it has to do with the deprivation of life and liberty, which are the rights of the people which are not represented specifically in the nation unlike certain states and should be specified for everyone in the nation to know. My third addition would be Article 22, treason. The U.S. Bill of rights does not talk about punishment of treason towards the U.S. I believe it should be implemented in case any trouble arrives that could cause national security problem due to treason by individuals towards the nation. While I believe these three articles should be implemented into the United States Bill of Rights, I find it difficult due to the articles being more for Texas as an extreme conservative state rather than liberal or less
The First Amendment is the most important, because of freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Many people think that the fourth amendment is the most important. They think this, because it is important for a person to be able to tell policemen “No” if they ask you if they could search your car or your house. I believe that the fourth amendment is really important, but you wouldn’t be able to tell the policemen “No” if you didn’t have freedom of speech. George Washington said,”If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be, like sheep to the slaughter” (“Famous Quotes Freedom of Speech”).Without freedom of speech and religion we are nothing.
The anti-federalist wanted to add the bill of Rights to the constitution to ensure their personal freedoms would be secure from the large national government that was being proposed. The Bill of Rights contained ten guaranteed rights, most important was the freedom of speech, freedom of press, and freedom of religion. Other important amendments included the 13th, 14th, 15th,18th,19th, and 21st. The thirteenth amendment states that, “ neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” This amendment was put into place after the civil war in order to abolish slavery.
I think that the 1836 Constitution of the Republic of Texas is very similar to the US Constitution. The very first lines of the constitutions, the preambles, are worded pretty much precisely had the same words. The Constitution of the Republic of Texas had “We, the People of Texas, in order to form a Government, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence and general welfare; and to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves, and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution.” for their preamble.
In addition, Federalism and the bill of rights were not far behind. The Texas constitution heavily borrows its framework from the U.S. constitution. The Texas constitution consists of separation of powers and the bill of rights (the first ten amendments of the constitution), just like the U.S constitution. The aim is to reign the power of the governments and

The 8th Amendment is an very important Amendment in the bill of rights. As you may know the 8th Amendment helps with jaylee’s with bails, fines, and excessive force. The 8th Amendment has a meaning and a purpose and makes an enduring impact on our lives. To begin with the 8th Amendment is very important to the constitution.
The Amendment that means the most to me would have to be the 14th Amendment. It is important to me out of all 27 Amendments because it states in the constitution that all persons born in the United States are subject to its law. No state can make laws that will take that privilege away from said citizen. No state shall deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. Also no state shall deprive any person the equal protection of the laws.
Texas has had six constitutions since its independence back in 1836. “The current Texas constitution is the seventh constitution in Texas history” (Library) it was written in 1875 and ratified in 1876 and has since been the standing constitution in Texas. How does Texas’s state constitution identify with society today, and what did the final document produce for the Texas people. To describe some of the features of the current constitution let’s take a quick look at the influences that lead to the adoption of the present constitution. When the Democrats regained legislative control, after the Reconstruction period they called for a constitutional convention to revise and recreate the 1869 constitution that the “Democrats” felt to have been involuntary forced on the state at the time by post-Civil war radicals.
The state Bill of Rights is much larger than its federal counterpart, and has provisions unique to Texas. The Texas constitution defines the responsibilities of country governments, which serve as agents of the state. Greg Abbott is the current governor of Texas and Dan Patrick is the Lieutenant governor of Texas. Being new the Texas, I didn’t had much knowledge about Texas Government. To get familiar with Texas I took Government 2306-71008 classes.
We’re able to express our political beliefs without being fearful that we might get sent to jail. Without this amendment, we wouldn 't be able to speak up for ourselves against the government whenever we
The Constitution of the Republic of Texas was the supreme law of Texas from 1836 to 1845. On March 2, 1836, Texas declared itself an independent republic due to a lack of support from the U.S. in their revolutionary movement. The citizens of Texas approved an annexation ordinance and a new constitution on October 13, 1845. On December 29, 1845, the U.S. admitted the State of Texas to the Union. After the Texas voters ratified secession from the Union on February 23, 1861, the Secession Convention reconvened.
The fact the founding fathers of the United States, risked their lives traveling on a dangerous journey in a hope of finding a place where they can express themselves freely without any punishment indicates how valuable this Amendment is and it is sad that it is not
The Importance of the 1st Amendment In 1787 our founding fathers assembled the constitution of the United States of America. Of this which contains the most important document to the American citizen, the Bill of rights. The first Amendment states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances” These freedoms granted by the Bill of Rights are often known as freedom of expression. These rights are most important to a truly free society. The first amendment provides us with new ideas and dismisses the fear of punishment
The criminal justice system has a set of rules it follows when arresting, interrogating, and placing the accused on trial. These rules are known as procedural rights. Procedural rights are the rights of the accused/defendant, when going through the criminal justice system. They are the first ten amendments of the United States Constitution (Bohm, 2018). Also, known as the Bill of Rights.
6th Amendment I personally find that out of all the amendments the most important one is the 6th amendment. Reason being that it is crucial in aiding the judicial process from wrongly persecuting innocent people and it allows our democratic process to continue without preventing innocent people for taking the fall while punishing those who harm it. It keeps justice in check, keeping laws in line and rulings to be fair. The 6th amendment helps the defendants have an attorney when they are unable to afford one.
