When considering the choice of whether schools should pay students or not, schools not paying students for good grades is definitely the choice. If students are paid, they will experience lower scores and practical problems in the classroom which will escalate to problems outside of school. Also, paying for good grades can lead to a reduction of the child’s self-motivation. If my claim is not listened to, the future of these innocent children will become ominous and undetermined. Most parents want the best for their children; however paying children for good grades will only diminish all the amazing opportunities for
Another reason is because they tend to cheat. Lastly, paying students will only help in the short run not the long run. Paying a student is a horrible idea because it takes the motivation of learning from a student, they can cheat, and it only helps in the short run. Students all over the country would love to get paid, but some studies have shown that students will do better at school if they get paid for getting good grades. Bad effects is that one year the school pays you for good grades, then the next year you don't get paid. Reasons kids (students) don’t get paid is because kids might cheat on test or commit crimes to get good grades. The students would not learn for fun because there desire to learn is gone because they only want to learn is for the money. One other thing is that students should be satisfied with their good grades but now all the students care about is the money.

This goes back to the statement, “Children take on their parent personalities.” Depending on how the person's principles are set up will determine if they imitate those traits. The person who parents were actually successful thinks it's okay to just slack off because their parents have money; meaning his morals are unsubstantial and he don’t want to take on his parent’s legacy. For example, “but why should students work (learn) for nothing” begs the question. Also, these proponents assert the idea that students are doing job (learning) and should be paid for it does not follow or a non-sequitur fallacy. On the contrary, this proposed reward system will cause problems in the classroom. Rewarding students for good grades will decrease the student’s self-motivation.
