Have you ever thought about how those hardworking college athletes get through their years attending their University? Well, what if I told you that those athletes can barely get the essentials needed day by day because the scholarships they have received do not cover it and they don 't have any other money to buy it themselves.
Wouldn’t it be nice to earn millions of dollars to play a sport for fun? Being a professional athlete is something almost everybody has dreamed about and only a modest percentage have achieved. Sports are part of everyday life for most people in the country and millions of people idolize the players. Professional athletes are making over and above what they deserve. this money should be given to doctors and the armed forces. People’s salaries should be based on the job’s economic importance and value to society not based on their talent and ability to play a sport.
Why do you get so much money”the kid said”DO you not understand what we do”The athlete said.”All you do is play a game.”Athletes do deserve their money because of everything they do.Athletes are not overpaid because, they have a life time of bills, trian when they could be spending time with your family, and entertain us.
In the text “Pro athletes' Salaries Aren't Overly Exorbitant” by Mark Singletary the author talks about how much pro athletes get paid a lot but it isn’t too much. Whereas on the other hand in the text “Do Professional Athletes Get Paid Too Much?” by Justin Hjelm, he talks about how he thinks that athletes are overpaid. Then in the article “Are Pro Athletes Paid Too Much?” by Laura Anastasia the author talks about both sides of the argument on whether pro athletes are overpaid or not.
There are many different opinions on if professional athletes get paid to much compared to the median household income. Professional athletes should take what they have for granted because it is a very generous career. I'm not saying that it is totally wrong to get paid to play a professional sport I just feel that it is an exceeding amount than it needs to be. So overall, do professional athletes get paid too much? I agree with the people that say, yes they do get paid too much. I feel this way because for what they are doing does not compare to the rest of the careers for the country.
I agree with the writer Mark Singletary. I believe athletes get paid what they deserve. They need the money just in case they get a severe injury. When the fans come to see the athletes play the franchise increases paying the athletes more money. The owners don’t have to worry about the pay because they are payed by the sponsors and the ticket buyers.
Are pro athletes get paid over the top. ‘’They make over 10 times the amount of an average person’’(Stein dan). ‘’People work harder than most athletes juggling jobs, children, and lower wages , and stress that comes with it all’’. ( Jamel e.m. cummins)’’People that go out and fight for this country get paid way less then these athletes’’ (Elizabeth). On the other side these athletes dedicated their whole lives to their dream , and deserve making a pretty high payroll.
The role of money and promoting league parity and competitive balance has always been a challenge for professional sports leagues. Sports teams are spread all over the globe, with some teams located in large metropolitan areas which can afford high revenue while others are in small cities which have lower exposure to the outside market. As a result, the financial resources available to teams are significantly different, allowing richer teams to outspend the poorer teams as they can access to more resources to procure more expensive, and likely, better talent, leading to a potential league competitive imbalance. To overcome this issue, leagues have imposed numerous policies, such as setting a limit on teams’ payrolls in the form of a salary
Tiger Woods made 40 million dollars for his first sneaker deal. Athletes are being paid millions of dollars. Their salaries are enormous. Athletes are overpaid because other people with more important jobs should be getting paid more and athletes are getting paid for entertainment.
A professional boxer can make more money in one match than some people make a year. An actor or actress can make even more than that boxer, when filming one movie. Professional athletes and entertainers are overpaid; they are not necessary to the growth of the United States, they are like the face of America based on their popularity, and they make millions of dollars and complain about how they are not paid enough.
Professional athletes are huge role models in society. Everyone who plays sports can not expect to make it professionally. It takes a great deal of hard work and dedication. People overlook athletes because they do not work at an average job, at a computer, or even at an office. They play sports and get paid for it. People think it is easy to just play a sport and be good at it, but it actually takes various amounts of time and hard work. Sometimes going to college and playing sports takes more effort than earning a college degree. Professional athletes deserve all the money they earn because of their role model status in society, their short career windows, and how their talent pulls in the paying fans.
Athletes are not getting overpaid because they need the money to pay for their health. An athlete can get hurt any time during a game, and if they don’t have money to pay the hospital bill, how are they going to get better? Not all athletes are taking advantage of their money; some athletes give their money to charities. Athletes need the money to buy a house for their family, buy food, clothes, and a lot of other things to help them. Also, they need the money to pay for their taxes and insurance.
I don’t know why athletes get paid millions of dollars if they are only entertaining us for a living. Tom Brady made $36 million in one year and Lebron James made $71 million last year. The professional players work, practice extremely hard, but are they worth that much. According, some people think that these athletes are not overpaid. Some Americans will work a full-time job until they are protracted at 70 years old, and they don’t make as much money as Tom Brady makes in a year. People like nurses help them get back into the game when they are injured, but they don’t get paid the athletics do.
Many athletes use their fame and fortune to make the world a better place. They are extremely talented and amazing at what they do. Some people believe that athletes are overpaid, and that they don’t deserve to get paid as much as they do. People are starting to get furious because it seems like every year athlete get paid more. In my opinion, I don't think they get overpaid.
Even Though athletes bust their butts playing sports, they also don 't need that much money in a salary. Most athletes spend their money on drugs and on alcohol that could hurt them. They end up going to jail after they go out and buy them drugs.
