The NBA is more generous than the NFL to its playersI believe the NBA is more generous to its players than the NFL. For example, the nba pays more than the nfl. Accordion to this article, “Why NBA players get paid so much more than NFL stars” by Tom Ziller, from Snation.com, the author points out how the NBA pays more than the NFL. One reason why nba player recieve more money than nfl athletes is because . NBA players get roughly half of all league revenue before expenses. Given an estimated $6 billion in qualifying NBA league revenue, The NBA’s sport, basketball,is much less risky to the athletes physical well being, than the NFL’s sport, which is obviously football. The
Tiger Woods made 40 million dollars for his first sneaker deal. Athletes are being paid millions of dollars. Their salaries are enormous. Athletes are overpaid because other people with more important jobs should be getting paid more and athletes are getting paid for entertainment. Other people with more important jobs should be getting paid more.
On the other hand, the author of “Do Professional Athletes Get Paid Too Much?” , Justin Hjelm, thinks otherwise. Hjelm believes that pro athletes are overpaid for just simply playing a game. He thinks “It is a
I agree with the writer Mark Singletary. I believe athletes get paid what they deserve. They need the money just in case they get a severe injury. When the fans come to see the athletes play the franchise increases paying the athletes more money. The owners don’t have to worry about the pay because they are payed by the sponsors and the ticket buyers.
Why do you get so much money”the kid said”DO you not understand what we do”The athlete said. ”All you do is play a game. ”Athletes do deserve their money because of everything they do. Athletes are not overpaid because, they have a life time of bills, trian when they could be spending time with your family, and entertain us. One reason athletes are not overpaid is because,Athletes have a life time of bills.
The role of money and promoting league parity and competitive balance has always been a challenge for professional sports leagues. Sports teams are spread all over the globe, with some teams located in large metropolitan areas which can afford high revenue while others are in small cities which have lower exposure to the outside market. As a result, the financial resources available to teams are significantly different, allowing richer teams to outspend the poorer teams as they can access to more resources to procure more expensive, and likely, better talent, leading to a potential league competitive imbalance. To overcome this issue, leagues have imposed numerous policies, such as setting a limit on teams’ payrolls in the form of a salary
draw in a big crowd which also brings in more money that people pay to watch. When asked, former NBA player and Hall Of Famer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said “It’s a $6 billion a year industry. Last year, CBS and TBS split up a $1 billion just off of March Madness.” In the NBA the average amount of money signed to a player in a contract is at least 5.15 million dollars. With so much money being made these athletes are getting none of this.
In fact, “Athletes were not always paid more than CEOs. In the early stages of the American Football system, most players had to have a normal day job on top of playing, because there was no money to be made in pro football.” (Two Sides To Every Coin, are Professional Athletes Paid Too Much? BleacherReport.com) Do you know those animal commercials that shows all those pets stranded, hurt, hungry, thirsty that need a home?
It seems morally wrong that athletes would be paid more than people who are firefighters, doctors, and police doing more valuable things than playing a game. In the same breath how much is a touchdown a three pointer or a home run
This concludes my reasons why I think professional Athletes get paid too much. They are getting paid too much for just playing some sort of entertainment. There are jobs that they have to risk they life for us, like cops they are risking their life for our safety and athletes don’t risk their life cops don’t get paid enough in my opinion. The community is more important and people who have fought for our country that don’t have a lifestyle they deserve a
There could be a policeman with an entire family, and an athlete will make more than them in one paycheck, while that family is making significantly less in 10 years. These reasons prove that more important jobs deserve to get paid more than athletes. Now. some athletes spend their money responsibly.
First of all, they both get payed. But how much? NBA players on average get payed $1,790,902 per year however soccer players on average only get payed $50,000 per year. Now that is a huge difference. So pretty much the NBA clearly value their players more than FIFA.
Professional athletes are extremely overpaid for the “jobs” that they do. They only entertain for a living and get paid millions of dollars per season. Each sport is different in how they pay their athletes, and the difference in salaries from one player to another can be in the tens of millions of dollars. These athletes are paid for jobs that they only do for a certain number of games and do not even play the games over the course of an entire year. In most professional sports, they play in games for only a few months and then have a few months off.
Athletes make way to much money for playing a simple sport. People who risk their lives such as nurses and police don 't make near as much money as athletes. Nurses make around $95,333 per year, that 's $842,167 less than Peyton Manning does in one football game. Police officers make around $56,260 per year. That’s $315,118 less that Kobe Bryant does
Many athletes use their fame and fortune to make the world a better place. They are extremely talented and amazing at what they do. Some people believe that athletes are overpaid, and that they don’t deserve to get paid as much as they do. People are starting to get furious because it seems like every year athlete get paid more. In my opinion, I don't think they get overpaid.
People know that doctors and firefighters save lives, while athletes play a game to make money. Even teachers don’t get paid as much; they educate the generation’s youth so they can make a difference in the future. So many jobs that are very important don’t get paid as much and that money can go towards better causes. But these are only some of the reasons that pro athletes get paid too much.
