Plagiarism is defined as, “The practice of taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them off as one’s own.” Plagiarism is hateful and dishonest to the author because you are taking their work and passing it off as your own. It also affects the person who is plagiarizing because you will not learn how to write an essay on your own and will not succeed in life. Plagiarism is on the rise because years ago it was hard to plagiarize, but now everything is on the internet, which tempts teens and young adults to copy and paste someone else’s work.
