In the text “Pro athletes' Salaries Aren't Overly Exorbitant” by Mark Singletary the author talks about how much pro athletes get paid a lot but it isn’t too much. Whereas on the other hand in the text “Do Professional Athletes Get Paid Too Much?” by Justin Hjelm, he talks about how he thinks that athletes are overpaid. Then in the article “Are Pro Athletes Paid Too Much?” by Laura Anastasia the author talks about both sides of the argument on whether pro athletes are overpaid or not. In Mark Singletary article he states that he is going to give a “more power to ’em position” he means that he is going to support the fact that pro athletes get their fair share when it comes to getting paid. He supports this by saying that the athletes deserve what the fans are willing to pay and how much sponsors pay them also.
Persuasive Argument National Athletes are/are not Paid Too Much The topic, pro athletes are/are not getting paid too much, is a heated argument between people. Have you ever thought about it? Well, an answer that I’m sure would be agreed with is that national athletes are paid way too much money. Some people might say that they deserve what they get, but there really isn’t any supportive reasons for that. People know that doctors and firefighters save lives, while athletes play a game to make money.
Sounds great having your defender telling you to give up huh? It truly show how great and how “fair” the court system is. “Too often, those who are poor receive lower quality defense than those who have the means to pay”(Brunt). These defenders are only looking at these cases for about an hour were a privately paid defender is focused on one case that they can look at it as long as they need to. So yah the wealthy who are willing to spend some extra money have an advantage over people who don’t have as much money.
The million dollar question; should college athletes be paid? This is an immense debate, but if you were to ask me, I would say yes, college athletes should be paid. There are a plethora of reasons why college athletes should get paid. College athletes should get paid because of the amount of time they put into their sport, the amount of money everyone else is making off of them, and their overall importance to the school. There are a myriad of reasons that people can argue the opposite way, but, the reasons they should get paid definitely outweigh the reasons they shouldn’t get paid.
I am here to convince you that pro athletes are paid a good amount of money. I can admit that they might get paid a little too much but it is because they risk their lives for our entertainment of others and they risk their injury. It is very important because there was a player who shattered their bones and their whole face. You may think now that it might be a good idea to get paid more money because of the way they risk their whole life playing sports
In general everyone in society is threatened by their money, they feel helpless against their money. They think money is the most powerful thing you can have. They might also look up to them for the reason of their money. They see the socs as powerful people, and they want to be like them. They want them to be perfect, so they think that and lie to
Even when the college athletes don't get paid they do in the pros. That does not give them the right to steal their cash. They train everyday for this and most can't even pay for it.The college athletes deserve every penny that they worked for. In rebuttal college athletes deserve to get their money because all the reasons why they shouldn't are just small excuses. It's their right to get their hard earned cash.Like for any other job you get money in exchange for their work. When they spend every minute trying to get better it's only fair to get money in return for their hard work. All these reasons why college athletes should get paid is fair. The reasons why they shouldn't get paid doesn't even matter.Ncaa should do an agreement to pay college athletes before there is no ncaa. Both pros and ncaa athletes work hard in their
Some believe it is unfair that athletes are being paid far beyond the average family income, and others believe they are not overpaid. The truth is that athletes are not overpaid. Athletes face injuries that can be both career and life-threatening and they tend to have shorter careers. Athletes need large salaries in order to afford expensive surgeries and to keep them financially stable during their retirement years. Athletes also give light to other jobs within the sports industry.
These could include how well the player plays according to their wage, the amount of fans, the manager quality, and much more, all of the numerous factors contribute to the anomalies of the results. For example, both the quadratic and cubic regression lines have a higher r^2value than the linear regression line. This may suggest that teams who spend the least are more motivated to do well thus creating the curve found in the regression line. However due to the findings, it is clear that money does play a significant part in the success of the team as confirmed by the r^2
