Why Should Backpacks Be Allowed In Schools

Is it smart to take away a chef’s cooking utensil or a librarian’s books if so, then how do they get through the day? Backpacks are important to students and are necessary, just like weapons in the military or how a suit is to astronauts.. A decade ago, students were allowed to carry their backpacks around the school. However, there have been teachers who had tripped over student’s backpacks. They had been injured because of one or two backpacks. After learning about the accident, backpacks are prohibited for safety to teachers and students. Because of one or two backpacks, every backpack can not be carried around the school, therefore they must keep it in their lockers. It’s true that in the past, many teachers and students have tripped over backpacks and have sustained injuries from it. However there is a solution for this problem. For example, teachers can buy hooks to place on the classroom wall, from which students can hang backpacks and personal belongings. That way students and teachers won’t trip over the backpacks. Another thing, hooks are very cheap and can last for a while. For example, at the store Lowe’s there are hooks that are as cheap as seventy-eight cents. Students can also place their backpacks behind their desks and not the floor resulting in less injuries or accidents. If the desks are crammed together with no room this will not work well, students may place their belongings in a corner of the room and out of the way. Although there is a chance of theft happening by another student where they discreetly take something important out of the backpack, the student might not find out about the theft until it is too late . Consequently, each class will develop a new system where if a student wants to take something out of their backpack they must take the backpack back to their desk. Students may be distracted and it will only be for a brief moment, but this way everyone will know if it’s their backpack that’s being rummaged through or not. If the class does catch someone going through someone else’s property, that student will receive either detention, suspension, or expulsion from the
