These are the two of the many reasons why phones should be banned for the teenage generation. Students are sent to school to learn but if they have phones in their pockets they will not learn anything and will have their full attention on the little device in their pockets. Others may suggest that cell phones should not be banned since they offer a different way of studying and can also be used as a calculator in many cases; however, these phones can also help the teens cheat. Teenagers are prisoners to their phones, is that why phones are also called cell phones? As time passes, cell phones have more and more to offer this generation.
Students bring their cell phones everywhere with them, including school, where notifications or ringing disrupts in class. Cell phones could be a helpful source of information and communication. However, cell phones in school and in classrooms cause many problems. Schools should ban cell phones because it is too much exposure, it is disruptive, and students can cheat easily with the use of technology. First of all, cell phones should be banned in school because they provide young adults with too much screen exposure.
To begin cells phones should be allowed in school because they can be useful in emergencies. So many things happen in our school environment like threats and school shootings. In the article 7 Reasons Why Students Should Be Allowed To Use Cell Phones in School the writer Joe Mecca states “In more serious emergencies, like a school threat or shooting, cell phones could help students connect with worried parents.” This is why we should be able to carry cell phones around because there have been many school shootings and
In addition to this we already have kids in classrooms that are playing games during a time of where we should be writing, reading, or even science. If we can barley handle chromebooks why should we be put into a bigger challenge of having phones where students will probably be checking social media for the most part. I would love to have phones in school but it would be really hard to handle and if you look on the real side it is just a huge disaster that kids will certainly not pay good attention with phones. Also kids could be looking on other websites that they could cheat on and find answers to hard questions. Especially when we have online test.
People are prisoners of their phones, thats why they are called cell phones.” Since so many kids have mobile devices that they can use schools should allow them to use them. But if they are doing things not related to school work, then they lose their privilages and have to write a paper as a punishment. Schools should try this policy and see if it works. If it does, then teachers can do stuff online and not have to print off everything on paper and kill so many trees. This is a very hot topic in schools around the country.
Cell phones can also be very distracting to the teacher, who are only trying to give an education. If one cell phone ring goes off, the entire class has an impulse to turn their heads toward the ringing, therefore turning their attention away from the teacher. Take, for instance, the recent New York Daily News survey, based around Hillcrest High School staff. 77 percent of the surveyed staff stated that there have been more negative incidents in their classroom when students are allowed to use their phone. 70 percent also claim that they have had one or more incidents involving students and their cell phones.
In Stabroek News’ “Cell Phones Should not be allowed in schools“ a secondary student from West Demerard secondary school says that cell phones in class “Disturb other students who are trying to study”. Although most students would just say that they should look away or mind their own business and stop looking at what they are doing, it is very difficult for students to take their mind off of lsomething that has distracted them from their previous task, however brief it was. Students will get sidetracked easily by the sound of a phone ringing if not making sure it wasn’t theirs, they are trying to figure out whose did go off. If their friend is smiling or laughing at something on their phone they will want to see it too. If they decide to try to take a photo their friends and people near them will try to lean into it and attract attention of nearly half of the
Although smartphones and iPhones are the most popular used device, schools should not allow them in class, or in the hallways. It could cause distraction, lower in - person conversation, and can cause cyberbullying in and out of school. In school, cell phones are quickly becoming distractions to students when used. “You’ll get kids saying ‘I’ll look something up in English, and while I’m here, let me quickly check my Instagram or Twitter feed’. And then it’s ‘Oh I never realized this girl said that to me,’ and now they’re distracted and
The main issue is that phones are creating a big distraction that is actually affecting the students’ grades. Teachers are having to stop in the middle of class to tell the student to put their device away, which takes away time from the lesson being taught. Cell phones have always been around in school, but since the approval of them in school had led for them to be used in school property at any time. This is an important issue because in the future this would affect the nation because those students who didn 't pay attention in school, have a job but don 't have the necessary education skills in order to accomplish their tasks. Some schools have tried to ban phones from school property, if a student was caught with a phone they would get confiscated, while other schools only allow phones during lunch or in class with the permission of the teacher.
Because when you're on your phone the teacher does not know what you're are doing. You can be on Snap chat or Instagram, or even looking up the answers on the test. Students should not be allowed to use their phones during school hours because there are many students who will use their phone in a way that they are not supposed to. Do not get me wrong, there are some students who will use their phone in the correct way, and those students should not have to suffer because of the other students. Even at home phones have become a problem, students can not even have a conversation with their parents without them being on the phone.
Second reason is that using phones are important in school. I think cell phones should be allowed in school because if you forget something at home you could call your parents to bring it to school. Like when you forget your homework. Also when your staying at school and you forget to tell your parents that your staying at school, and or you want to go somewhere after school to hang out with your friends. And i also think what if your friends have something of yours that was for that class and he had it because he didn 't do the homework and he forgot it so you let him copy it and you needed it now you could text your friend to give it to you.
