Describe the problems the City of Mississauga hoped to address using digital technology.
The problem the City of Mississauga hoped to address using digital technology was to improve its “operations and services.” The City of Mississauga believes that technology should be easily accessed by all individuals regardless of their financial or educational circumstances. According to the City of Mississauga, the number of low-income and middle-income families has increased, making access to technology more challenging for these citizens. BYOD has many advantages which include familiarity, flexibility, and convenience. This advance made it possible for individuals to better connect with the up-to-date operations and decision-making aspects of the corporation. For example, the article states in chapter 2 on page 53, that the city has connected over 600 transit buses and 700 city vehicles including fire trucks, and snow plows, regarding routes and real-time locations.
