George Washington is one of our countries Founding Fathers. He was the first US President and served between 1789 and 1797 (George Washington Biography). He was called the father of our nation for the important role that he played in the formation of America.
Washington was the commander-in-chief of the revolutionary forces. He was largely responsible for forcing the British forces out of Boston while inspiring a fragile and weak army. Washington almost single-handedly saved the nation from disintegration and defeat. Although there was no grandeur moment that changed our society when we won the war, the revolutionary war touched nearly all aspects of early American life, from things like slavery, women's rights, religion, politics, etc.
George Washington was an important role in the creation of the Constitution of the United States in the year 1787. His goal was to create a nation that would stand strong, even with the war between Britain and France. He also helped to create and draft the Proclamation of Neutrality, which spelled out the country's stand of not involving itself in conflicts of foreign nations. George Washington who is referred to as the "Father of the United States" played an important role in the French and Indian War. As I read in the preface of The War that Made America by Fred Anderson, I learned that “George Washington struck the first spark of a war that set the British North American frontier ablaze. ”(Preface) He was a 21 year old man who was raw and ambitious when he was sent to Ohio. Washington had no idea of the pivotal figure he would become in the start of the French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War, and how it would change the face of America.
I think that George Washington had a dramatic impact on the U.S. because he was the first president and he issued the Neutrality Proclamation. First off, Washington used the strategy of attrition to wear the British out during the war. Secondly, Washington helped to raise morale by winning the battles of Trenton and Princeton. While growing up, George had no idea that one day he will change the world forever. The American revolution is one of the most important events in American history. It had taken millions to make this happen, including General Washington. Washington was an outstanding general to had brought hope into the minds of his people in a time of despair. Inexperienced in running such a huge army he made the impossible, possible. He had led his army through the crucial weather, disease and several hardships.

He also outlined a plan to create the capital required to kick start a prosperous economy and introduced government tariffs, subsidies, and awards to encourage American Manufacturing. According to John Steele, Alexander Hamilton can take all the credit for creating an economy that went on to become one of the strongest in the world.
