To most families, pregnancy can be a blessing. To others, it’s a curse. Most the time, those others get abortions. That is when you stop the embryo from developing into a human. Many people don’t agree with abortions because they say that it’s murder and it should be illegal. Others think that it should be the pregnant families choice. Abortion should be legal because they don’t hurt anyone, it prevents children from being born into a miserable life, and they protect the woman’s health and well-being. Abortions occur in the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. There isn’t a baby yet, there is an embryo. The embryo would only be an inch at 10 weeks old. At 13 weeks, the baby is three inches in length. That’s about the size of a ring finger. The embryo doesn’t have all that it needs to survive. It isn’t a baby, it has the potential to be one. Seeds have the potential to be a plant, that doesn’t make it a plant. Even if it was a baby, it’s not able to feel pain yet. Science shows that fetuses do not feel pain …show more content…
They aren’t prepared. If they were to give birth, the child would be living in poor conditions. The mother could not have enough money to support the child, or the father could not be around. The mother could be in an unhealthy relationship and bringing a child into that would be bad for the kid. Many people argue and say if they aren’t ready, they should give the child up for abortion. There are 428,000+ children in foster care yearly in the United States. Only about 135,000 children end up getting adopted . They are usually in foster care for 2-5 years before adoption. Foster care can cause developmental and social issues amongst kids. They feel unloved since their biological parents didn’t want them and/or because they aren’t getting picked for adoption. A stable relationship with parents is good for developing children. Children can’t get that if they aren’t getting adopted and are in home after home after
While some say that abortions are harmless and that the mother should have the right to have one, I believe that abortions should be illegal in the U.S. I believe this because abortions are cruel to the babies, physically harmful to the mother, and also mentally harmful to the mother.
This baby that is growing in the mother's body will become a child and then an adult and could have the most amazing life. That child could end up being super successful and loving their life, and that will never happen to those 1.2 million babies aborted each year. Also, just because it is the mother's body and she has the right to do what she wants, doesn’t mean that the baby growing inside of her doesn’t have the right to live, because everyone has the right to live, including those unborn children. (Why Abortion Is Bad for America - ProQuest). In addition to this argument, pro-choice activists that say that the unborn child is not living, nor is the fetus a personareis incorrect.
This is because when a woman has a high risk pregnancy, having to carry a baby to full term and giving birth, can be detrimental to her body or even cause death. High risk pregnancy can imply so many different things, like being more prone to infections and miscarriages. If a woman has HIV, diabetes or high blood pressure, this can all complicate the pregnancy, making the woman more prone to miscarriages or complicated birth. Miscarriages are a common thing, but if the woman's body can handle it, it can cause serious internal issues or even death. So without having the resource of abortion for medical reasons, it could go as far as death for some women.
Abortion Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before the fetus (unborn child) has developed and grown enough to live outside the mother. Most induced abortions are performed in the first trimester of pregnancy . I believe that abortion is wrong unless involved in criminal activity There’s already been debates over abortion. Members of the right-to-life movement believe that abortion is morally wrong and should be prohibited.
Why Abortion Should Be Illegal Abortion has been a popular debate in the United States, especially after the Supreme Court ruling in 1973 stating a woman has the right to an abortion. In my opinion, abortion is wrong and very unethical. There are some specific instances where abortion may be acceptable, but for the most part, abortion is an evil act. Abortion should be illegal because it is the killing of an innocent human, even if he or she has not been born yet.
Adoption can be a difficult process for them. Whether they’re a newborn or an older child, they’ll have to adapt to a new environment and new parents. For the children in foster care waiting to be adopted it’s important to think about what led them there. They may have been abused, neglected, or otherwise mistreated and removed from their parents care (Craft). Alternatively their parents may have passed away and they lacked any close relatives to take them in (Craft).
listland.com, says “while fetuses of that age lack a fully developed cortex experiments on animals lacking a cortex show that they withdraw from painful stimuli.” “Dr Nathanson, an early proponent of abortion became a pro-life campaigner after he saw 12 week fetuses shrink from instruments and open their mouths in a scream during an abortion.” This is such a brutal act. This means is that when a baby is in the mother’s stomach it is in fact alive. Most “pro-choice” people say that the reason that they commit abortion is because the baby is not alive yet.
Instead of having an abortion, women can choose a more beneficial option, such as giving the baby up for adoption. When women decide to get an abortion, they don’t think about adoption because of the long process, even though it can help other families who can’t have children. For example “It’s logical that anti-abortion organizations seeking to prevent abortions and promote traditional family structures would aggressively promote adoption, but this connection is often overlooked…”(Joyce). Many women that get pregnant with an unwanted child usually look into having an abortion first rather than going through the long process of pregnancy and giving the baby up for adoption. Furthermore, “In President Obama 's speech… he suggested that one solution to lowering abortion rates is making abortion more available”(Joyce).
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
Yet the question still remains, should it be legal? According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary of 1828, the word abortion means,”the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus.” An abortion is deliberately ending the pregnancy by ending the child’s life before it is born. An innocent child should not be responsible for your mistakes and an abortion is the euphemism of “to kill the baby.”
Literature Review Throughout the years, research has been conducted on the effects that foster care can have on children. In the United States alone, there are roughly 670,000 children who have spent time in the foster care system each year (“Foster Care,” 2017). Of those children, approximately 33% of them age out of foster care system. Studies then show that the foster care system has had varying effects on the children who are/have been a part of it. In many cases, studies have noted the effects of attachment for children in foster care.
Some people think women use abortions as an escape from their wrong behavior and careless decisions in life and Some people believe that having an abortion and ending a child’s life will solve their problems but in reality, abortion only hides problems it doesn’t solve them. There is always a solution in every problem, choosing abortion and denying life to a child who already exists is irresponsibly and irreparably wrong. How sad for those who think a child is not worth anything. Children
Engaging in sexual intercourse, even when contraceptive methods are used, carry the risk of pregnancy. The unborn baby should not be the one punished for the mistake made by adults and should be given the right to live and enjoy life. Well, the pro-choice would go against this by saying that a baby should not come into the world unwanted and that having a child is an important decision that requires consideration, preparation, and planning. Going against abortion, I shall ask why they engaged in sexual intercourse knowing the risks that it carries. If there is not enough finances to support the baby and women are unprepared to care for their children, why not consider putting them up for
Abortions is a very controversial matter in our society. In the United States it is legal to abort a baby up until the day of birth. An abortion is the ending of pregnancy before birth which results in the death of an embryo. Supporters of abortion are also known as to be Pro choice .Abortion has been around for thousands of years. The U.S Supreme Court Case Of Roe vs Wade in 1973 has made abortion legal in America.
The termination of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own is called abortion. Nowadays, abortion is so common that more than forty percent of all women will perform abortion at some time of their reproductive lives. While this numbers are scary, what is more troublesome is that several countries support this dreadful act. Society is now considering this act of murder each day more normal, and position the mother 's rights before the baby´s rights. Killing an adult is no different than killing a fetus, both are genetically unique and were made by God.
