Reading and writing has always been the two biggest fundamentals of my life more so writing. Some people say that in order to read one must know how to write, and others would say that in order to write one must know how to read. Reading and writing are two very important lifelong skills that should be taught at a very young age. Reading has not always been an important factor of my life because it is one of those things that does not interest me. On the other hand however writing has always been a major factor in my life for a various of reasons. Writing for me is my safe haven, the escape from reality when I am in need of a breath of fresh air. When I am unable to express how I feel verbally writing always come mind. Writing the thoughts in my head flows naturally with the rhythm on the in pen in my hand. Writing is an art to me, it comes naturally and free flowing. Being able to pick a pen or pencil has a great thrill behind it to me when it comes to writing. To have complete control over the thoughts I write on a blank sheet of paper with a bold point pen is exhilarating. The exhilarating feeling about books, however;dies down for me. Reason being, I was the oldest of three living with a single mother. When there are no books to read or have read to me it becomes easy just not to read. My passion for writing came from the shortage of books in the household where I lived. Not reading as a child or having someone read to me has really caused problems. Having to read in front of the class as a child was my worst nightmare, my only fear was mispronouncing the really big words. Unfortunately, the shortage of books in our household I do believe that caused my poor reading skills and my dislike for books. Although my reading skills are not the best I always try to read a little here and there to enhance my
I should have been opened up my eyes to reading and writing because I want to be a teacher, assistant. I always liked working with kids, and I will like to be a great assistant. Since there's no way to become a teacher assistant or even a teacher without having reading and writing skills, I will have to read and write more often. It is like King says "If you want to be a writer, you must do to things above all others: Read a lot and write a lot" (72, 73). If I want to be a teacher assistant or maybe a teacher one day I must ameliorate my reading and writing.
I try to read alone. My struggle is reading. It's hard to pronounce and understanding the meaning. I like to read with a teacher or adult who can explain the meaning when I need a help. I think when I read with someone, I can understand more and focus more in the book.
The ability to read and write is both creative and destructive. This ability opens your eyes to the world and how beautiful it can be. It also has the potential to destroy your entire grip on reality and expose you to the actual world you live in. It imprisons you yet, releases you from your mental confinement. Some people never escape from this confinement, some do; and those who escape sometimes go on to do great things in life.
Although I enjoy reading now, I used to have many hard days when reading felt like a chore. I remember my mother and me sitting on the couch reading together. There were days when I loved it and wanted to keep going, but there were also days when I would just break down crying because I could not understand it and everyone else did. I remember one time when we were
Books are a real significant part of our lives and are involved at every step in our lifetime. Books are expensive and the knowledge in the book is always hard to get and is scarce. We can do well and better through the internet and without the books and it won’t even cost me because buying books is always another headache. When I was in my high school, I loved reading
My Literacy Narrative I was never truly an avid reader when I was younger. I was the oldest of five siblings and left in charge of taking care of my younger brothers and sister. I was more prone to spending time outside than reading a book. Of course, I did find myself enjoying a good mystery novel, but playing ball would always trump even a good book.
Reading exposed me to many different situations and outcomes, and it broadened my vocabulary. In a way reading helped me prepare for the real world. People usually
I 've learned that reading and writing can take me any where I want it to go. I can explore my mind to go anywhere by imagination, by reading and writing. However,My reading and writing experience since I was a kid until now I still having a difficulty. When I was 3 years old my mom started me to learn how to read and write. At first, I 'm having a difficulty to read and write but my mom tried her best to taught me.
Reading and writing influence the way that I interact with the world. I learn new things from reading and writing, which in turn help me communicate with others because I am learning new facts and skills. My relationship with literacy is a very close one. It's helped me in many areas of my life, such as being more social. Without literacy in my life, I don't know what I'd do.
The history of my literacy has been a long road of a frustration and learned lessons. As a child, I was a bit of a loner so reading and writing were the closest thing to a social life for me. The things that I bottled up inside came out through my writing and it became somewhat of a pass time for me. As long I could remember literacy as has been an important value for me in my life because from very young age I got express my true self without being judged by the outside. Even though in my later years I would deal with some heartaches and set back that lead me to give up on my love for reading.
Writing is a vital part of life. Before the creation of written language human communication was limited to verbal, in-person conversations. Everything changed when writing allowed thoughts and ideas to travel farther and more efficient than ever before. Writing is a talent that we learn at an early age and only hone as we proceed through our academic careers. This being said, as with any talent every writer has strengths and weaknesses.
Writing is not just about coming up with ideas and jotting them down on paper saying that it is your story because if it is then it is half done, and readers would not want to read what you have to say about how you feel on an experience that you have explored. Writing is about going through experiences and jotting those experiences down on paper and putting them in order so that the reader can understand what experiences you went through to get to the point that you have come to. Writing is a way to write you feel and to make it easy so that you do not have to speak what is on your mind. In my opinion writing can be my favorite thing to do because I like to write but when it comes to me speaking, I get nervous and do not know what to say when I get in front of a crowd. Writing can also be a way to get out of things such as if you want to break up with someone, tell your parents something that is bad that you do not want to tell them in person, talk to a doctor in a message just in case if your friends are
From the age of 3 years old I have played for a football team that has resulted in practice up to four times a week and two games a week. After traveling to and from training, little time is remaining throughout the day for anything else. I lived with my mother, grandfather and grandma growing up, to this day, I don’t recall seeing any of them pick up a book and reading one throughout my childhood. The only time I was subjected to reading was during school when I was forced too. I think this contributed to the normality of not wanting to or thinking about reading outside of school.
My experience as a reader isn 't as extraordinary as many, but I love to read. I had some great teachers throughout my education that taught me to enjoy reading challenge oneself and not be intimidated by it. Through college and today I do not have much time to read, other than school books speech, education ,and reading. Those are the sweet books I know read.
