She felt parent involvement is needed however, due to parents working schedules, this could be hard. Once we concluded the interview I thought of better ways the daycare and school could involve parents. Since the holidays are coming up the teachers and office staff can create an art exhibit to display children’s art work. This can be done after hours and a light refreshment could be served. However, any school event that includes parents have to be done and announced prior to the event. Therefore, emails, newsletters, sign-up sheets, or phone call reminders can be given a month in advance. (Scully, Barbour, & King, 2015)
I have not seen no progress of Kalina this school year. I believe the lack of communication from teacher to parent is a strong impact of Kalina’s progress. I introduce myself in the beginning of the school year to inform all of her teachers of my strong input of Kalina’s education, but when it comes to there Kalina’s concerns and/or struggles, I am not informed of there and/or her needs. I have been in contact with her math teachers, but that is not a lather of concern as Kalina does not have a math IEP
UCM:CPSW did a home visit and met with foster parent (Dorothy Bensalih), Emeri and Cantarah. Cantarah was playing with her IPad and Emeri. CPSW talked with Contrarah briefly and asked about school and any other concerns. Cantarah reported that she is doing well and excited about her new Ipad and plays with it after school. Emeri was sitting and playing with his sister during the meeting. Emeri seemed shy and quietly playing with his sister.
QP suggested Kayla 's mother write rules on a poster board and decorate it for the kids.
The last day of Vacation Bible School was bittersweet. I noticed how the girls built strong relationships with one another, as well as with me and Pam. Although distracted at times, the girls still remembered each lesson when we reviewed on the final day. We were all sad, in a way, for this time together to end, but everyone had a wonderful time. My observations were very beneficial to me in my journey towards a career. I gained vital knowledge, positive advice, and relationships to last a
When administrating the Reading Interest Inventory (Mariotti, n.d.), the Motivations to Read Profile Survey and asking the Conversational Survey Questions (Pitcher, et al., 2007), it gave insight to how Hailey felt about herself as a learner. The questions that stood out in my mind, is how I can help Hailey to be more success in the classroom as well as become a stronger reader overtime? I would like to look more in depth in Hailey’s comprehension skills and provide her educational strategies that will help Hailey to grow in her reading comprehension and give her some tools to help herself when she is having trouble. I am interested to see how Hailey reads orally, and to check her reading accuracy and fluency. Are these areas that are impacting Hailey as a learner as well? Is her oral reading and fluency areas that are impacting her ability to comprehend a text? Is she stopping to attack an unknown word and having a tough time remember what she just read? Does she understand new vocabulary words and the context around the words?
I really enjoyed my clinical rotation to Whelan Elementary School. I have to be honest in saying I was not looking forward to this rotation. I thought to myself, “How much could a school nurse do in one day? I’m going to be bored out of my mind.” Lucy the school nurse proved me wrong. The entire school day Lucy remained busy. Aside from the constant visits from students and staff, Lucy also had lots of documents and paperwork to fill out. Lucy explained to me there are times throughout the year when she has to work weekends due to extra paperwork such as registration for incoming kindergarteners. Lucy also mentioned she meets with parents one by one if there child has any health care needs that need to be discussed with the school nurse prior

The third stage of Gibbs’ reflective model is evaluation. In this stage, I will reveal that good and the bad part of the situation. My reaction towards the situation was mixed one. There were times when I really wanted to be part of the situation and help people suffering from dementia. On the other hand, there were many times when I was not willing to be that helpful as a carer should be. My initial reaction to the situation was a surprising one. This was mainly because the way Susan was handling the situation and constantly repeating the same answer for John. John just wanted to know when his son will arrive. Susan kept repeating the same answer that “he will be a little late as he is at work” over and over again. Susan showed no sign on
