Lucian Wilkes was appointed for a position at Champion Foods, to oversee this business's promotional routes (Daft and Marcic, 2014). The staff was not cooperating with Wilkes because the new steps for promotional activities takes time to implement and cannot happen suddenly (Daft and Marcic, 2014). This may be due to the leadership style Wilkes used, which is autocratic leadership. Autocratic leaders do not listen to other people's perspectives and get to have the ultimate say in the decisions (Toor, 2023). Sales promotions are temporary promotions to get individuals interested in buying the product (Toor, 2023). Over the years, Delissio has implemented coupons, where customers can use coupons to get the product at a discounted price (Delissio Pizza Coupon Canada, 2018). Marketing research should be done to understand what the customer is looking for when it comes to frozen food (Toor, 2023). There are two routes Champion Foods should take in terms of marketing research, which include primary and secondary research. Primary research includes research done by Champion Foods (Toor, 2023). This can consist of doing surveys or asking consumers in grocery stores to gauge what they look for when purchasing frozen food items (Toor, 2023). Many consumers, like myself, always like a good deal on items, as it helps save money in this booming economy. Similar to Delissio, Champion Foods should engage in sales promotion. Many frozen food companies are unhealthy and may not be the best to consume in the long run. By implementing sales promotion, it will persuade customers to try Champion Food’s products out. Alternatively, secondary market research is research already available by another source (Toor, 2023). This will be useful for Champion Foods to get some background information on competitors' tactics and understand the market for frozen food.
