The background of the work is a sky. To be specific, Willie chose one single color which is a solid blue to draw the sky where is near the horizon. In contrast, Willie used rich color including yellow, green, orange, black to show the sky where is higher and far away from us.
There are several people in the work. I believed that woman who is pouring the water is main character in the whole piece. The dress of the woman is dark blue while her hat using light orange. Amon them, three children are next to each other and two of them are fighting to each other. Only one child who was drawn in dark color is standing a little further away from them. On the left side of artwork, the man who is watching the children is standing in the back of voice box. There are quiet a few advertisement sigh in the work, such as loan cash, cock, and sale. On the left of whole work, there is a red advertisement was thrown on the floor. Furthermore, there is another red sign on the left of the colorful house. Meanwhile, on the right side of the piece, there is another woman who is wearing a red skirt is standing back of colorful house. Therefore, Willie used red color which is vivid direct viewers’ eyes from left to right, as well as from bottom to top. However, this bright color is balanced by Willie toward the bottom right corner and the dark blue color used in the empty space. Additionally, it makes strong contrast with the whole bright-colored
In the representation, illumination of facial features are created by all the symbols and images that the person is made up of because it exemplifies the morals and characteristics of the person, but when the drawings and symbols are peeled away, the face is all saliently white, showing how there is no character or depth behind those drawings. This represents how people are now just made of the themes consumerism and materialism because they have no personality and morals anymore and that they are dehumanised and unidentified as a person. This shows the ideas portrayed in the poem as the family that it focuses on always wants more than what they have and how their main goal isn’t their care for their child, but to win money and spend it. The background of the light blue sky is a negative space, emphasizing the statue of the white Buddha, which is a positive space that is one of the main focal points in the photograph. In addition, the color of the light blue sky is in contrast with the dark green trees and the dark brown incense pot, which also makes these two positive spaces more prominent in the photograph. However, the dark green trees also frame the photo, making not only the worshipers, but also the Buddha and the incense pot to be placed in the center of the photo. Also, the sun’s rays highlight the large, white Buddha statue, making it the most prominent feature in the photo. The light of the bright sun highlights the incense pot in the photograph; however, the incense pot is not as prominent as the Buddha statue.
Nina Irwin is a Kansas City artist, globally known for her watercolor landscapes and ceramic pieces. She has had many shows across the country, and several overseas as well. Originally hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Irwin’s family moved to Kansas City when she was six. As the child of two successful artists, she was surrounded by art throughout her childhood, but did not pursue it as a career until her mid-twenties. She attended college for a variety of disciplines, including archeology, anthropology, and English, and had many interests, though none truly appealed to her as a degree.
The lower part of the painting is describing the frontier part in readers’ point of view, and the upper part of the painting is describing the farer part in readers’ pointing of view. In the frontier part, there are columns to show it is the interior. The interior is suggested to be a café by the name of painting ‘Women on a Terrace Café’. In the farer part, there are buildings and road so it should be the main street.
The characters seem friendly, and calming. The painting seems fun, and playful. I can image this piece working perfectly in a child’s bedroom to calm their bedtime
These lines are very visible where the colors overlap. This leads to color in the picture. The color scheme in the picture is bold and vibrant. The reds, yellows, and oranges of the chairs and walls create a lively and warm atmosphere. The use of green on the floor and ceiling and blue on the walls and furniture adds contrast and balance to the composition.
Smith just happened to took all of the paint containers. When he finally got everything on set, he began to paint his house. He started to paint corners of the house with different colors. In details, he painted the corners of his house in orange, brown, red and yellow. As he finished painting the corners, he looked back to his “amazing” artwork.
The color red represents the positive space in the painting depicting a waterfall that is flowing while the color blue depicts the negative space in the piece. The brilliant hues of greens, purples, reds, and yellows that are strategically brushstroke on the piece give of a sense of impressionism. 121-123). In the middle of the two bands, there is a layer of laurel leaves. In the vase painting, there are four characters distributed from left to right. The second of them is a male.
Even the woman’s frame and posture seem to follow the lines created by the railings of the viewing box. The railings are also implied lines, the first thing our eyes go to is the woman, and then we follow the railings to the man who has his gaze set on the woman. The man’s gaze gives us implied lines that lead us back to the main focus of the painting, the woman. The artist also uses light and dark to guide our eyes to the important parts of the artwork. Most of the artwork is dark, while the woman and the man looking at her are in the light.
Looking a little closer you can see one home resembles more of a tent and the other is a brick house. I quickly saw the connection between cultures exhibited in the drawing. Although the homes look different the background is completely the same. I feel the painters point was that all cultures can coincide together in harmony. You can even see different levels of class between the houses as one being a more wealthy home than the other but at the same time living in the same place together.
giving the painting a cartoon feel by emphasizing the onomatopoeic lettering in a yellow box, showing that the plane has blown up. This painting includes warm colors such as a vibrant red and yellow as well as neutral colors like gray, white, and black. Lichtenstein’s colors and the use of natural colors are very predominant in his work of art. He uses a sense of contrast between dull and vibrant colors to emphasize the importance of what’s going on and where the focal point is.
Colors used are black, brown, red, orange and some white. The background shows a body of water, likely a fjord (a narrow inlet of sea with steep sides or cliffs), typical in Norway. The sky is made up of long dashes of red and orange. Whitish and blackish lines spread through the sky, water and land, indicating sharp, rapid movements in the composition. The work has three human figures: the first figure at the center and two other vague-looking dark figures to the left, walking away behind the first figure.
