Willing Hearts (WH) is a non-profit organization in Singapore which provides daily meals to its beneficiaries. The theories will explain what is most important when crafting a PR plan for the organization In implementing strategies and tactics, we must first understand who is the target public that the organization is targeting. Target publics are important in defining who they are and how they behave as this is the first step in setting the foundation in strategic communication (Kim and Ni, 2010). Guth and Marsh (2006, p.93) described public as a group of individuals with common interests or values. They can be internal or external publics. In the case of WH, their target publics are the beneficiaries and volunteers. The beneficiaries and …show more content…
With most of the public getting their information through social media platforms and online media, organizations have to adapt and switch to these platforms as well. However, there are drawbacks when using them as well because the target publics may not understand the messages or understand it but not take the necessary action. Breakenridge (2009) mentioned that the online community doesn't appreciate pitching and messaging. Instead, for social media to be effective involves the proper understanding of how they work. This means that although social media is a powerful tool, the target publics can choose what they want to read or listen to. Information that is boring will be treated as …show more content…
Although they have more than ten thousand 'likes' and constantly update their page, the content that they put up is not interesting enough for people to notice them. Despite that, many members of the public know them because they have been on mainstream media for the work that they have done. However, to reach out to even more people, they will have to do more in terms of content creation and engaging the online public. Which is why we have proposed to take over their Facebook page for a year and improve on their content and social engagement. To conclude, we believe that identifying target publics of the organization is most important followed by goals and objectives, messages and then communication channels. If WH does not know who their target publics are, they will have problems in setting their goals and objectives and what kind of messages to disseminate and what channels to use when delivering the appropriate
Madness is developed between both texts, “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “I Felt a Funeral, in my Brain” as the central idea. In “The Tell-Tale Heart” madness is shown by Poe not liking the old man’s eye. In “I Felt a Funeral, in my Brain” madness is shown when the girl is imaging a her own funeral because she is upset with how her life is going. In “The Tell-Tale Heart”, Poe is mad at this old man’s eye because he feels that it looks weird.

In recent years, social media has quickly become one of the most powerful platforms on the planet for marketing, networking and social connection. A suggestion to offer to Keep Knoxville Beautiful’s page is posting twice a day, if not, at least daily. There seems to be a consistent posting range for multiple days, and then there is a break for a couple of days. Having a consistent daily routine of posting keeps your audience fully engaged as well as it brings more recognition to the page. Another suggestion to Keep Knoxville Beautiful’s Facebook sight would be to add an interactive calendar of all of the organization's events, in the information section of their Facebook page. This way, the audience is provided a straightforward area with everything they can participate in.
“I've heard many things in the heaven and in the earth. I've heard many things in hell”(Poe). In the story The tell tale heart, a man ends up killing his old man over his “Vulture eye”. He loved the old man. But his “evil eye” vexed him and he decided to take his life.
Rationale: For this task, I created a diary because I think that this style of writing would be an extremely effective way to show another major character’s emotions and ideas, as it can be written from a first person perspective, giving a huge amount of insight. I based my task on a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, titled “The Tell-Tale Heart.” I chose this piece as it gives the opportunity to be very creative in my writing, but also introduces various constraints, such as writing in a similar style to Poe, and trying to avoid any plot holes. This task specifically relates to part 4 of the language and literature course, being; literature, as the stimulus text is a piece of literature, as is my piece of writing.
