Great Canadian Opinion Essay A great Canadian is someone who achieves and accomplishes great things. Their accomplishments inspire, motivate and encourage others. Winnie Harlow is one of the greatest Canadians because of her accomplishments and her inspiring actions for everyone. Winnie Harlow is a great Canadian because she raises awareness for her skin disease Vitiligo, motivates people of any kind to follow their dreams along with having a very successful modeling career. Winnie Harlow has achieved many accomplishments in her life, her largest being the awareness she brings to her rare skin disease Vitiligo. Winnie is a very famous woman in the modeling industry and one of the very few models with Vitiligo. She has never covered up her skin or her body because of the condition, instead she shows it off very proudly, bringing awareness to the disease. Winnie has said in many interviews that she was bullied when she was younger and that she still does receive negative comments but she proves to those people wrong by being strong and confident. She has had such an amazing career after growing up believing she could never do it. Winnie never thought modeling was a possibility for her because of Vitiligo but after a prompt from a photographer she had interviewed she gave it a try. Her modeling career took off after her appearance on America’s Next Top Model and it has not stopped since. As I stated previously Winnie is very well known in the modeling industry and has modeled for many brands such as Fendi, Nike, and Swarovski. Winnie has modeled for Glamour, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Complex magazine. Along with modeling Winnie is also the C.E.O of her suncare brand Cay Skin which promotes protecting your skin from the sun while still looking gorgeous.
