Evil is the profound immortally, wickedness, and depravity, especially when regraded as a supernatural force. The puritans believed that everyone should be holy. They also believed that there was actual people in their village that were witches. Everybody could be accuse of being a witch. If anyone did something out of the ordinary they would be accuse. Girls weren’t allow to lie, dance, they didn’t have no rights at all. Abigail was one of the girls who would not go by the laws of the Puritans. She was malicious, sneaky, and bad. Abigail would influence her other cousins and other girls to go dance with her in the woods. Where ever she goes she spreads death and destruction. First and Foremost, Abigail lied. She said she had seen a bird, but it was just a lie. Similarly, she was dancing in the woods with others, which was against the law at this time period. This started hysteria, because Abigail got really sick and no one knew what was wrong with her.

The Witch Trials By: Natalie Boggs The Salem Witch Trials were a time between 1692 and 1693. It all started when two young girls who lived in Salem, Massachusetts started having theses fits out of nowhere one minute they would perfectly behaved children then the next they would start having these fits. The girls had claimed somebody had bewitched them and that they were possessed by the Devil. Many historians believed that the strange behaviors could be from the Rye the people in Salem had been eating but what the people of Salem didn't know was that there was a deadly bacteria on the Rye that could have caused the girls fits. I know that from research that the Salem Witch Trials where a time that many people claimed to be possessed by the Devil and they accused innocent people of bewitching them.

Can you imagine being accused of a crime that you did not commit? This is exactly what happened from June 10th to September 22nd. Twenty innocent women were put to death in a small town by the name of, Salem Boston. This was called the “ Salem Witch Trials.” The Salem Witch Trials were due to a variety of things.
Abigail seeks revenge on Elizabeth throughout the play because, she is in love with John, and wants to be with him. Abigail helped begin the Witch Trials by originally wanting revenge on Elizabeth, and then she assists in the conviction of many innocent people. Without Abigail wanting revenge on Elizabeth, many people would not have been falsely accused for witchcraft.
She was the epitome of an immoral, self-centered person. Many people were executed on her behalf and even more were damned. Everything she did agonized someone else. Abigail had to deal with suffering at a young age, when her parents were brutally murdered in front of her by Native Americans. The death of parents is stressful, more so when you are such a tender age. What happened to Abigail was so stressful that she had a mental breakdown. Abigail developed a sociopathic disorder, from not being able to handle the amount of suffer and stress she had. This suffering caused Abigail to make horrible decisions, she had a relationship with a married man and accused people of being witches.
Abigail said “She hates me, uncle, she must, for I would not be her slave. It’s a lying, cold, sniveling woman, and I will not work for such a woman!”(Said by Abigail, From The Crucible, act1, page12) Because, the standard to judge one person whether good or bad, is whether he gives a hand to others or hit a person when he is down. Abigail did a lot of things that gave enormous hurt to them such as breaking a family in the village and let one becomes a scapegoat. She is a cowardly girl that afraid to shoulder the responsibility.

She took a drink out of a glass of wine that she was not suppose to even touch or drink. It was a huge deal that Abigail, the Puritan woman, was dancing around naked in the woods.

She’s the woman who holds grudges, is selfish, and a great liar. Abigail seems to be especially gifted at spreading destruction and chaos wherever she goes. She is able to manipulate others, for example, all her friends and the whole town. In addition, she obtains control over all of them and sends nineteen uninvolved people to their deaths. All these things add up.
