In the article Why Women are Leaving the Tech Industry in Droves by Sue Gardner, published by the LA Times on December 5th 2014, Gardner attempts to explain to people in the Silicon Valley tech industry why the number of women in tech positions is dwindling, and why they should make an effort to get more women involved. By using both statistical and personal evidence to prove the lack of female representation in technology, and by heavily relying on ethical, emotional, and logical appeals, Gardner effectively emphasizes her opinion of the Silicon Valley tech industry as misogynistic. Throughout her argument, Gardner relies on ethos to establish her credibility by citing her personal experience, strong association, and former ties with the technology

Nevertheless, she seems to add character to the man, and influences his actions. Robertson Davies’s female character’s have done just this as they have had influenced Dunstan though his lifelong experiences. In “Women at Work,” an article adapted from the work of La Verne Bradley published in the August 1944 edition of National Geographic Magazine, the strength and perseverance of women during war times is explored. Prior to World War II, the workplace was seen as “a no woman’s land” (Bradley, 144, p. 83). During World War II woman began filling their men’s’ shoes more than ever before as they filed into factories (Bradley, 1944, p. 83). “At the same time [as preparing and helping their country with the war], [women] worked hard to keep their homes or set up new ones” (Bradley, 1944, p. 75). One thing I would like to know about is how the United States is affected by women working. My first question I would like to know more about is when did women start working in the U.S.A. Up until 1840 most women stayed home and worked around the farm or plantations. Many women also worked as slaves or servants. Some women also owned businesses where they worked as apothecaries, barbers, blacksmiths, printers, tavern keepers, and midwives.
2.4 Economical barriers: Women are expected to commit and dedicate all of their time and money to their children, which leads to them to have little or no money or time for themselves for their own well-being. This links up with the socio-cultural factor which manifests these historical beliefs and expectation. These social practices are transmitted by the vast majority and not only by men, but also by women who share the same perception of what are normal and acceptable to society (Cailliau, 2013). Due to this, women experience a lack of time, lack of appropriate, safe and accessible infrastructure and a lack of clothing to participate freely in sport or any form of physical activity (Cailliau, 2013). This has a snowball effect where women

It was a woman who was at the helm of affairs of our country before Nawaz Shareef and has proven herself a great orator and a great administrator. She had all the qualities of statesmanship in her.
In an article in CNN money, written by Matt Egan, he stated that “Only 14% of the top five leadership positions at the companies in the SP&500 are held by women” (2015). Also, within those 500 company’s women were only represented in 24 positions of top leadership (2015). Even with all the attention being placed on women’s issues in our nation today there is a deficiency of women in the senior leadership roles in businesses. Therefore, the need for protections and laws are necessary to restrict and relieve the biases against women in this
Over the past 40 years defenders of women’s right have worked hard to assure growth of women's careers, trying to contest what is attribute as ‘the glass ceiling’ which is the invisible barriers that control woman from rising to top positions in corporate context. From the mid-90s European Government firms and private and public organizations have pursued a suit, bringing the recruitment of women at the upper levels of companies. The increasing prominence of leaders like Carly Fiorina, Hillary Clinton, and Condoleezza Rice accentuate the development in gender roles over the last half century. In the first paragraph I will discuss what do you need to be a successful leader and also about how women rises in organizational structures and practices,

Gender Equality Gender equality – a brief introduction Human rights are for all human beings, men as well as women. This means that women are entitled to the same human rights as men. However, all over the world women have historically often been discriminated against in many ways, due to the fact that they are born as female and not male. Even though there have been some improvements, unfortunately, this kind of discrimination still exist in our societies.
When that resource, time, is being used to focus on gender verses productivity the company as a whole suffers. By achieving gender equality in the workplace, companies should start to see a significant amount of financial progression. According to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, “It can also improve national productivity and economic growth” (WGEA). This statistic can make for a great motivator in the business world. Not only can removing the gender factor reduce the number of barriers associated with females, but it can show that a company is willing to give every employee an equal chance which can lead to attracting newer potential experienced employees of both genders.
Entrepreneurship in the Philippines is currently booming and one of the best things a person can do today is start taking action in putting up its own business or acquiring a franchise (Louren, 2017). Entrepreneurship is a state of mind. It is not identified or measured with the type of business a person is in the success of that business but rather it is the total way of life for entrepreneurs. Being an entrepreneur requires distinct personality traits such as having a risk-taking personality, need for achievement, internal focus of control, tolerance for ambiguity and having a type A behavior or striving to achieve more in less time and general competitiveness (Gilles and Mondejar, 2008). Entrepreneurship has been described as the “capacity and willingness to develop, organize and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit” (www.businessdictionary.com).
