Woodrow Wilson lived a simple yet blessed childhood. He was born on December 28, 1856, in Staunton, Virginia. His biological father, Joseph Wilson, was the descendant of Scottish immigrants and his mother Janet Woodrow immigrated from England at a young age (Cooper, 2017). Having immigrants as parents assisted Woodrow Wilson with accumulating votes in his later presidency. Wilson was the only president since Andrew Jackson to be the descendant of Immigrants. Wilson was gifted enough to have parents with a stable job in such a hardship of time during the Civil War.

At a young age Wilson commenced in politics and studied the nature of it, along with literature(Cooper, 2017). Wilsons knowledge was expanded greatly when he was accepted into Princeton, where he evoked his debating career and wrote papers. His debating would benefit him majorly in the future. After graduation Wilson studied law for two years, with the hope that his new education would lead him into politics(Cooper, 2017). Wilson soon discarded his career in law and found a new interest in government and history.
Wilson was granted the privilege to have healthy children and marry the woman he loved. In 1885 Wilson married a preacher's daughter, whose name was Ellon Axson. Ellen and Woodrow had three daughters Margaret, Jessie, and Eleanor Wilson. The three daughters were blessed with a life of rich and fame that came along from their parents. Martin Van Buren was born on December 5, 1782 in Kinderhook, New York. His parents, Maria and Abraham Van Buren, were a struggling Dutch family with six kids, who owned a tavern and an inn which hosted government workers and political meetings. Martin’s family owned six slaves, which was common for living in New York. Martin went to school until he was fourteen years old and then dropped out and did not attend college. After he dropped out of school, Van Buren worked as a law clerk in a lawyer’s office for seven years.
The consequence is, that the happiness of the society is the first law of every government. " This treatise lead to a rise in popularity for Wilson. In 1777 Wilson was recalled from congress by Pennsylvania because of how he was vehemently opposing the form of the state constitution. He was then restored to office because Pennsylvania was not able to find a replacement to take his place.

Andrew Jacksons’ parents immigrated from Ireland to the harsh Carolina frontiers in the 1760s. They came to the states so they could escape the poverty in Ireland, but it turned out to be equally as hard for them here. Jackson was never able to meet his father because he died while his mother was pregnant, that left him with his mom and his two older brothers to fend for themselves. Andrew Jackson grew up in a harsh environment where you had to fend for yourself because of the recurring threats of violence. During the war against the British one of Jacksons brothers died of heat stroke while in battle and the other brother and his mother died of disease.
Many people know Theodore Roosevelt as the 26th president of the United States,but many people don’t know he was also a rancher. He loved to go hunting for Bison in the Badlands. He loved it so much he invested $14,000 in cattle and started a ranch south of neighboring towns of Little Missouri and Medora. Teddy wasn’t the typical cowboy he was 5-foot-8 and 135 pounds, he was anything but robust because of him shaving his beard and brushing his teeth. The other cowboys thought he was to clean and dressed too nice to be a cowboy.
Theodore Roosevelt Jr. was born on the 27th of October 1858 in New York City and is known for being the 26th president of the United States. Theodore was the second oldest out of four children from a family with Dutch and English roots. His father, Theodore Roosevelt Sr, was a businessman and his mother Martha Bulloch was the daughter of well off plantation and slave-owning family. His family was pretty prominent overall. As a child, Theodore Roosevelt suffered from asthma, poor eyesight and a weak body.
Growing up, Alexander was unable to attend a church and get education because his parents were not legally married. So, he attended a private school led by a Jew, and he had a tutor. Later in life he enrolled to the Elizabethtown Academy. Along with Alexander, groups of college students joined a militia.

Teddy was said to be a sickly boy, bus as a teenager her was involved in a gymnastics and weightlifting program so that he could become a stronger man. As this young boy he spent a lot of his time in his family's great brownstone, which is also where he was homeschooled due to being so sickly.(Theodore) Teddy went to Harvard from 1876-1880 and his hard work did end up leading him to Columbia University Law School. While still in College he met a female named Alice Lee, who then became his wife.
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 in Monument, Virginia. The son of Augustine and Mary Ball Washington. He has five siblings, and the oldest of his siblings. He grew up in Potomac River, then moved to Mount Vernon, which at that time called Little Hunting Creek Plantation, then moved to Ferry Farm. Living in Virginia as a child, when he grew up, he never went to college, but still become part of the colonial army and what all of us know, the first President of the United States.
I am inspired by the work of Woodrow Wilson, our 28th President. Although he was a man of his time and thus in his leadership showed flashes of racism and sexism, I believe that Wilson was a man of his country and of ideals. His tour to promote the League of Nations after World War One stands out to me as an act of patriotism and moral conviction. Toward the end of World War I, it seemed apparent that the Allied Powers would triumph. President Wilson was allotted the lofty responsibility of negotiating an end to the conflict with the enemy Central Powers.

This upbringing also led to him having a violent temper and a need for intense loyalty from his friends. After the war, Jackson studied law at an office in Salisbury, North Carolina. Wilson's administration worked to, "manufacture public opinion favorable to the war effort" (Kennedy 46) and from that the public became divided. Comments by Wilson's Attorney General stated, "(a) country governed by public opinion," which later lead to Kennedy stating, "the manipulation of mass opinion for political purposes was becoming a highly refined art" ( Kennedy 47).
