ellow women, Good morning. I, on behalf of National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA), please vote for Woodrow Wilson as the president of US. I assure he will do everything in his power to make equal pay and opportunity for women. I stand for you today, not only as a member of NAWSA, but as a women, and for every women that feel mistreated and violet. Once for all, women’s right is human rights. But why women aren’t allowed to vote? Only men could? This was because the misunderstood and believed that women were not intelligent enough to make a political decision. First, the Women in Public Service Project was done at the Wilson Center. His commitment to public service by educating the next generation of the leaders of women. This project record the advances made for women’s rights under his term. Secondly, before the Congress had guaranteeing women the right to vote, he gave a speech and tried to convinced them to pass the amendment. Later on, the mistreatment of Alice Paul and other women in prison for their cause created outrage. Which he then appalled when he knew that women were being force fed in the prison. Although he got picked by the suffragists outside the White House because of what he said but didn’t do it. These examples strongly convey his determination of supporting women. In the result of Wilson’s support, the 19th amendment was passed. And finally provided equal voting rights for men and women. It stated that “the right of citizens to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex” (The library of Congress) It emphasizes that we shall not be denied the voting rights of women by judging based on the gender.
