Causes and Effects of World War Two Epictetus once said “it’s not what happened to you but how you react that matters. This means that when something bad happens to us it does not define us. The thing that defines us is if we do not make a change to whatever happens to us. World War Two was a war between the Allies and Aries in the 1940’s. The war started because Germany's tyrant leader Adolf Hitler thought that the Germans were superior over the Jews and blamed them for their loss in World War 1. According to Hunt and Robinson, “even over 50 years after the event, many veterans still experience problems relating to their war experiences. The findings indicate that the effects of a traumatic experience such as war can persist into later life” (2010, para 5). This shows that the war was so ghastly that even after half a century of relaxation and a stress free life after the war they are still seeing glimpses of their old life. Having PTSD is hard enough on its own but when the veterans have a family to come home to it is even worse because that can really affect the children in the home. According to Elder “The analysis shows that veterans were more likely to divorce than nonveterans but that marriages began at other times. For veterans who were wed by time of entry, the risk of divorce was greater among those who entered relatively late in life and those who experienced combat” ( 2004, para. 2) . This shows that having PTSD can not just mess with your mind, but it can also ruin your family and relationships. PTSD is an uncontrollable syndrome that has a high risk of happening when you see the type of things that World War Two veterans saw. The main cause of World War Two was that Germany needed a leader and they turned to Hitler to lead their country back to greatness. Many World War Two veterans came home with severe types of PTSD; this was one of the many reasons that most veterans got divorced after their service. While World War Two was awful it opened the door for women and minorities in the workforce. God commands his people to stand up for others who cannot stand up for themselves and to stop evil from spreading.
