17 million deaths was how WWI ended and the treaty of Versailles that came soon after that was supposed to help make peace helped start a secondary war. In Europe not long after WWI ended on November 11, 1918 the Versailles Treaty was being made with leaders from the countries involved in the war such as France, England, the US. But, Germany was deliberately excluded. This essay will address the question of how the Versailles Treaty helped cause World War II. The Treaty of Versailles helped cause World War II by treating Germany harshly. This harsh treatment can be seen especially in three areas: Territorial losses , Military restrictions , and the War guilt clause.
One way the Versailles Treaty treated Germany harshly was with Territorial losses. According to the map on Document A, Germany lost the following territories: the Polish corridor, Lorraine and Alsace. This separated the people of Germany and they lost a large portion of their land used for coal mining. Along with the quote "the restoration of the frontiers
of 1914 could be achieved only by blood." from Adolf Hilter's book Mein Kampf (My struggle) this shows that War was seen as a possible solution. This evidence supports the idea that the

According to Article 160 from Document B the allies forced Germany to weaken their military to a mere 100,000 troops. An excerpt from Article 160 states "The Army shall be devoted exclusively to the maintenance of order within the territory and to the control of the frontiers…. The total effective strength of officers, including the personnel of staffs, whatever their composition, must not exceed four thousand." This evidence supports the idea that military restrictions on Germany helped cause World War II because it weakened Germany immensely to the point where Belgium had around 6 times more military power than Germany(Belgium had around 602,000 total available
Germany now had to decrease their military troops in their country to one hundred thousand, and they could only defend themselves within their territory. Document B features a German political cartoon, it shows a picture of men surrounding the country of Germany with chains. These men represent the Allied Powers and they are visibly bigger than Germany. It shows how the Treaty of Versailles almost in a way imprisoned Germany and secluded them from the rest of the world. In addition to these punishments, we can see in Document C how Germany had to pay a hefty amount of money in reparations.
Document A explained how the Versailles Treaty led to World War 2 by showing how Germany lost land and wanted to settle it by only fighting. " The restoration of the frontiers of 1914 could be achieved only by blood". Another reason how document A explains how the Treaty of Versailles led to World War 2 is how Germany was mad because they were the one who were taking all the damage and wanted to get payback by fighting. " No nation can remove this hand from its throat except by the sword. This document proves how the Versailles Treaty lead to World War 2 by taking Germany's
The loss of the Polish Corridor and the loss of Danzig was damaging to Germany because Danzig was the largest port city in Germany throughout all of the Baltic sea, and it was also one of the only port cities that Germany had at the time. The loss of the Polish Corridor was also damaging to Germany because it separated the motherland Germany from East Prussia, this would end up being the most hated part of the treaty because of the separation of Germany’s people without their consent. The loss of land to France and the loss of Lorraine and Alsace was damaging to Germany because they were two cities that Germany had just taken from France in a war during the 19th century. In Adolf Hiter’s Mein Kampf, published in1924, he stated how if Germany wanted to restore the land that had been sripped from it they would have to take it through war. It is childish to even imagine that
On November 11, 1918, the 11th day of the 11th month, Germany signed an armistice, ending what was called by the people the War to end all Wars. Little did they know, World War 2 would break out only years later. The rise of Adolf Hitler, a German Politician, led to the outbreak of World War 2. Hitler created the idea of Lebensraum, a German living space, which fired up the German people. With the support of his people, Hitler rearmed the German military, which went against the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.
In the early 1900s, Social Darwinism and nationalism ideology played a large role in how nations competed for land and power. The competition was a motivation for the desire to conquer and obtain land, therefore increasing the population within the country’s power. This increased population allowed for more people for trading, marketing, serving in the military, and other important aspects of European life at the time that increased the economic and political status. World War I, which broke out in 1914, was mainly caused by the desire for colonization, unbalanced militarism, and the conflict and treaties between alliances.
The expansion of armies and militarism was a leading cause of World War 1. Although several forces created tension among the nations of Europe, militarism was the most significant for pushing countries into war. Each country that fought in the war was planning on obtaining better military strength and forces. Militarism would allow countries to develop, and if they were lucky enough, they would acquire more land. Milltirims also united the country as a whole.

World War 2 had begun its descent to the end, leaving the United States and Japan to battle for the final victory. In order to defeat Japan and be named the winner, the U.S. began constructing The Manhattan project; a top-secret government mission to create the atomic bomb. The bomb powerful enough to destroy an entire city was completed with the intention of ending the war as quickly and peacefully as possible. The bomb threat was set to plan B when the U.S. invaded Japan. While U.S. incendiary bombs had burned 67 Japanese cities, Japanese soldiers stayed strong and loyal to their country.
World War II was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945 and involved many major countries. The war began with the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany. It rapidly spread throughout Europe and progressed to outside countries. The thing that most angered Germany and could even be labeled as the origin of World War II was The Treaty of Versailles at the end of World War I. The treaty imposed heavy reparations on Germany, limited its military capacity, and forced it to give up territory to neighboring countries.
World War 1 was an atrocious war that caused millions of deaths and hundreds of billions of dollars in reparations. World War 1 lasted from 1914 to 1919 and rudimentarily, was the fight between the Allied powers and the Central powers. The Allied powers consisted of France, Great Britain, Russia, and Belgium while the Central powers consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. All countries had some participation and damage done throughout World War 1, and the countries who started the war may be obscure. However, there are some countries that can especially be picked out for their contribution and cause for the war.
Hitler was the main aggressor during 1939 who everyone appeased to, who is infamously known for his rise to power, his persecution of Jews, and his attacks on the world to dominate, that killed so many. Neville Chamberlain, the British Prime Minister, believed in the policy of appeasement and appeased Hitler at the Munich Conference which eventually lead to the start of World War II. The Western Powers responded to aggression with appeasement, and in 1939 the world was plunged into World War II, proving to the world that collective security is a better response to aggression. Hitler’s aggression was the main reason why Allied powers felt the need to appease. In 1930, after the Reichstag fire, Adolf Hitler rose to power because he was appointed
After this war ended on November 11, 1918, leaders from the countries made a treaty called the Treaty of Versailles. After this treaty was made, many things happened and the question in many people 's minds was how did this treaty cause WWII? The Treaty of Versailles helped cause WWII by treating Germany harshly in these three ways: Their army was reduced, they lost territory, and the number one reason is all of the blame Germany got. One way that the Treaty of Versailles treated Germany harshly was the way that it reduced their army. After the date of March 31, 1920, Germany wasn’t allowed to have over one hundred thousand soldiers in its army, (Doc B) Germany would more than likely be furious because what if they were attacked?
July 28th, 1914, marked the start of World War I, which lasted until November 11th, 1918. The Triple Alliance and Triple Entente fought each other in this war. The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, an Austria-Hungary leader, marked the beginning of World War I, but the difference in policies between the involved countries ultimately fuelled the war. According to insider evidence, imperialism was a significant factor in starting the fire of World War I.
World War 2 was the biggest and bloodiest conflict of the entire world history. Many world powers such as the US and Great Britain were involved in this war, which indicates that this was an international war. After its end, defeated countries were blamed for its devastating consequences. One of them was blamed most in particular: Germany. In this essay, I will analyze to what extent was Germany responsible for the outbreak of World War 2.
Over the course of World War II many countries were stretched financially, militarily and economically. Large amounts of resources and money went into funding war operations that stretched from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic in the largest display of combat this world has ever seen. Many countries that found themselves ruled by a circle of influence from foreign power were now under less scrutiny and presence by foreign entities because of stretched military and power. One of the countries that took advantage of this lack of foreign control was Western India later named Pakistan which was controlled by Great Britain.
