As Elvis was for the Pop back then, 2-Pac was that for Hip-Hop. Born in the streets of Brooklyn, violence was no stranger for Tupac as he becomes well known for his savage lyrics that earned him many fans. No doubt that his lyrics would relate to the problems he had growing up. From drug dealer to promising hip-hop artist, Pac had a gift since day one. Selling over 75 million records, to co-starring in movies, and writing books, 2Pac made his way of being a legend while gone.. Tupac had been born as Lesane Parish Crooks to mother Afeni Shakur, a Black Panther activist who change Lesane’s name to Tupac Amaru in New York City. She had been imprisoned while she was pregnant with Tupac and already had him living the life of a black American in that time. Unlike the usual ghetto rapper who had came up from nothing and blew up by telling his story, Tupac had grown to like music, acting, politics, due to his mother, he had a good head on his shoulders that could make him something bigger. He was a very talented rapper who won many competitions at school. Attending classes such as poetry, jazz, and acting at other schools that he had attended. Moving from home to home, Tupac and his mother finally settled down in Marin City, California. He still had trouble with the law. In 1993, Pac and his friends had got into an incident with two off-duty officers. Pac shot at the officers but claiming that the officers were shooting first. All charges were dropped due the officers being intoxicated. In 1994, Pac was convicted for attacking a former worker while on a video set. He was sent to jail for 15 days. The biggest cased Tupac had to face was in November 1993, Pac and some friends were charged with sexually abusing a woman in a hotel room. The woman had accused Pac of many things but Pac had denied every charge. Pac claimed he had a relations with the women and that she came back to his room later that night of the accusation. He also claimed that he fell asleep after she came and woke up her accusations. Some charges were dropped for Tupac, but he was still charged with sexual abuse and was sentenced to a year and a half in prison. He wrote in his songs later after that how he’s not and never could be a rapist. As if things weren’t going so good for Pac, in November 30, 1994, he was robbed and shot the night before his hearing for his sexual abuse trial. Pac had been shot five times at the Quad Recording Studios in Manhattan. He had been taking to the Bellevue Hospital where doctors had treated him for his gunshot wounds.
