In my report i will be talking about how the Holocaust and how the Jews came up and how they survived this horrible event. Jews was being suffered and punished just because of what they believed in and the Germans put them in camps called concentration camps for a punishment. During this event, the Jews lost many people but they died for their culture so most of them died as martyrs.
It all started on May, 1945 when allied forces liberated the Netherlands in. There was a law that was passed by a royal decree that established policy guidelines for the reunification of Jewish parents with children hidden in Holland during the war. Government ordinances still commonly defined and restricted the Jewish quarter. Jewish people spoke Yiddish, and had a common language which they used among themselves and did not expect Christians to understand. Laws since 1215 had required Jews to wear distinctive clothes.(Deborah Dwork, pg10-20) The riots, or another name would be pogroms, against Jews in the middle ages were given a theological justification. These riots had little religious content. Jews and other groups were caught in the political struggle. Jews were not the only group in medieval Europe that depended on royal protection and not let the people to be identified with secular power. In the massacre of the Albigensians lay the first triumph of the Inquisition an arm of the Church established in the thirteeth century to expunge heresy and elluminate heretics. Heretics, Christians who rejected church dogma and therefore the authority of the Church, were a much greater than the Jews. The Jews had a covenant with God, they were to be preserved, but preserved in
In history there was many events that were horrifying. The Holocaust was one of those frightful events. During the World War II, the nazis were the ones in charge of the Holocaust. Six million Jews, homosexuals, and gypsies were killed and the survivors had to live their life with fear. These writers use several techniques in order to convey the horrors of the Holocaust.
The people received only what the government wanted them to receive. The government itself was also at its wits end because it couldn’t help all of the jewish immigrants. “Despite the ongoing persecution of Jews in
After businesses were shut down and synagogues were burned to ashes, Jews were no longer allowed to leave their homes. The spread of Anti-Semitism was on the rise all over Europe, especially in Germany, Austria, and Poland. Is was evident
In some places however the Government believed the Jews should be left alone. This caused an uproar among the people of Strasbourg, because of the public demand the Jews of Strasbourg were arrested and a meeting was held. “The money was indeed the thing that killed the Jews. If they had been poor and if the feudal lords had not been in debt to them, they would not have been burnt.” This shows that since the Jews were wealthy at the time many Europeans
This made it really hard for them to really fight back because most of them were poor and could not afford weapons like guns or knives ( Hass). Since the Jews had no power over The Nazis they were forced to do anything they wanted them to do. From 1933 to 1945 Jews were in a tough time along with the people that were against Hitler and his group of Nazis that were out to kill the Jews. Over those twelve years, many things had happened, many lives and businesses were lost in the Holocaust. Many people moved to the United States or Israel(US Holocaust memorial) because they couldn’t stand living in Europe during the time of the Holocaust.
The Spanish Inquisition The original purpose of the Spanish Inquisition was to discover and punish converted Jewish believers that were not following the Catholic beliefs. The Spanish Inquisition also started converting Muslims, who were insincere. However, within a few months no Spaniard felt safe from the torture that was going on around them. After a couple years the censorship policy came about this is where all books had to be approved by the Holy See. The Spanish Inquisition was harsher, organized, and freer with the death penalty.
The Jewish people in Germany went through terrible treatments that were completely legal due to Nazis inability to recognize what is acceptable to do to other humans, they didn't allow Jews have a say in anything. For a law to be justifiable in altering the rights of residents they
Everyone who has learned about World War II should know about the Holocaust. The Holocaust was during the same period of World War II. “What is it called the Holocaust?” you may ask. The Holocaust originates from the Greek language and means “completely burnt offering to God.”

Should the Holocaust be Taught in School? The Holocaust was a tragic event that killed and scarred millions. It is of the common misconception that only Jews were scarred by The Holocaust, however, the reality is that anyone that did not fit the expectation of Hitler perceived to be of a correct breed was killed, exiled, or imprisoned. ANTI-SEMITISM IN EUROPE IN THE YEARS THAT THE MERCHANT OF VENICE WRITTEN AND SHYLOCK’S MONOLOGUE ABOUT DISCRIMINATION I am going to use the word “anti-Semitism” rest of the paper, in order to understand the word, I want to give the definition of it. Anti- Semitism is a word that is used for the people who hate Jews. It is hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group. We call it “anti-Judaism” as well.
The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy which started in January of 1933 and ended in May of 1945, the Holocaust was the mass murder of millions of people. The word was derived from the Greek word that meant Sacrifice to the Gods (Steele 7), also called the Shoan which is the Hebrew word for catastrophe (Steele 7). So many countries took place in this 12-year genocide, including, “Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, which were also known as the Axis Powers” (Steele 34). But, although there were all those countries they were all part of one larger group called the Nazis, were the ones who were killing all the different denominations of people. (Bachrach 58).
Inquisition Torture tactics and pain were familiar components of the Inquisition. Many people were forced to change their opinions and religious views through sheer force and brutality at the hands of authority. The Catholic Church did not start the inquisition, but it was very common to the Catholic in the thirteenth century. Catholic believe, that people should be physical punishment. At this time, the Christians hated the Jews because they believed they were the reason of Jesus Christ death.
