At the young age of two-year's old, Jessica Haldin's body was ravaged by meningitis, causing her to lose all of her limbs. The Daily Mail reported one day she was a healthy child, and the next she was battling the illness to survive when what doctors thought was just a cold turned out to the deadly disease. Haldin's arms and legs turned black, and were eventually removed. She said: "I don't remember a thing about it, but I've been told I was in a coma for a month. When I woke up, my legs had been amputated as had my left fingers and my right thumb."
