Wu Zhao
Wu Zhao was a good leader for all people in Ancient China
Wu Zhao was the first ever female to become an Emperor in ancient china. She was born on the 17th of February 624 AD and grew up in a very wealthy family and being well educated by her father. By the time she was 14 she moved into a imperial palace to help serve emperor Taizong as a concubine. Wu Zhao continued to be educated while living at the imperial palace, learning languages and English, which certainly gave her the background knowledge and skills to be a good Emperor. While some believe she manipulated her way to power, Wu Zhao was a good leader for all people in ancient china as she set a positive example for others, particularly women, and introduced many improvements which made the lives of those under her leadership better.
Wu Zhao was a good leader in ancient china because she reduced taxes for farmers and introduced a new work system for workers. Wu Zhao recommended and gave out ideas on how to make her dynasty much better than what is was before by making it affordable for others, for example, farmers. The effect of reducing taxes for farmers was that it made a less expensive food production and also made other buddhist from other dynasties realize how affordable Wu Zhao's dynasty is compared to theres. As well as the taxes reduced she had also

She made sure that most woman in her dynasty contributed and got involved in many things such as positions they were interested in. Either if it was in government or to work with children. She did this so other women from other dynasties could see how much freedom her dynasties has as well as trying to be a good role for woman. Wu Zhao had also promoted every single woman that had contributed to things as ‘active contributors’ in her dynasties. This is very thoughtful and well planned as most woman in ancient china were told to stay home to look after the kids, cook and
In contrary previously, “the government officials and officers were chosen from the families of nobility, and generally through official recommendations” and Empress Wu carried on the tradition of the Tang Dynasty of skill over connection when receiving a job or a promotion. This proved that she believed in merit of a government and wanted the best for the Chinese government and the Chinese people. The ideas of merit within a government were an honorable act of a leader. However, many nobles did not like the ideas of meritocracy in the government, especially when the orders on how the government was going to run was coming from a woman. Many of the noble people believed that Empress Wu was trying to crush families with a good name, money, and connections.
The government became a bureaucracy he strengthen the military, and made giant technological advances. Qin developed legalism forcing his power of the government on people, only forcing his power that enabled him to build his tomb. If his people did not follow these rules they would have been severely punished. Like other second wave civilizations China absorbed the religion of
The Qin Dynasty reigned over a small period but made great/bad changes to Ancient China. The first emperor of the Qin Dynasty was Qin Shi Huang, a legalist. The Qin Dynasty was full of legalist changes. Qin Dynasty was changed by Qin Shi Huang by introducing legalism, making laws, and standardizing money for Ancient China. The Qin Dynasty was full of legalist change.
In conclusion, even though Qin brought glory to China. He was still a cruel leader, as he would kill his brothers so he would still be the emperor of China. I think Qin Shi Huang was a good leader to China because he built the Great Wall of China to protect his nation; he was only harsh and cruel on those who disobeyed and ignored his demands. Qin was emperor from 259 BC and died 210 BC in East
Few historical figures can stand alongside legends such as Napoleon and Alexander the Great but in his book, Heavenly Khan, Victor Cunrui Xiong Ph.D. tries to make a case for Tang Emperor Taizong, Li Shimin. Xiong attempts to write a historical fiction that appeals to a wide variety of readers. Heavenly Khan tells the story of Emperor Taizong who grew up in a period of devastation for the Chinese people. Taizong would grow to become a military commander, military genius, and emperor of the Tang Dynasty Doctor Xiong is a professor of History at Western Michigan University and is well versed in Asian history.
Another thing that I have learned is that China would not be as strong as it was without Zhu Di. Zhu Di becoming emperor was one of the most important things to happen for the Ming Dynasty. Zhu Di was the one that launched the construction of the Treasure Fleet and sent Zheng He on multiple adventurous voyages. The construction of the Treasure Fleet allowed China to travel around the globe and be very powerful. It also allowed China to form connections with foreign countries and rulers.
Can you believe that at age 13 Ying Zheng became the Chinese state of Qin. Stated in the articles ¨ Qin Shihuangdi¨ (page 297 in Discovering our Past: Ancient Civilization and ¨The First Emperor¨ ( By Daniel Cohen) Qin Shihuangdi was a tyrant.
1. How did Wu Zhao manage to rise to such a high position in an empire that favored Confucian Values? Wu Zhao was an extraordinary woman of many talents. However, Wu Zhao’s intelligence and charisma were not enough to help her attain the throne. As the book states “Only with the assistance of Propagandists, rehoriticians, ideologies and strong-arms of different persuasions.
One of the most remarkable women in ancient history was Empress Wu Zetian, the only female monarch ever to claim the title of Emperor in China. It was through a combination of luck, clever political manoeuvring and ruthlessness that lead to her ascend to power allowing her to become great through what she achieved for China.
While in his reign, Wu-ti had accomplished many goals for the success of the Han
Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in the Chinese history (Tang Dynasty 625-705 AD), has inspired me during my lifetime. At the age of 22, I learn her story just from a very successful TV series which was starring by a popular actress. The series described how Wu was able to survive in the palace battle at the dynasties dynasty: became a concubine at the first king, became a favorite concubine of the new emperor by expecting a baby in an extremely tough situation, and became the empress by accusing the wife of emperor killed her infant daughter. Finally, Wu took over the administrative duties of the court and was declared emperor of China later. The battle of the throne is always the way which fully covered with blood and tears.
Zhu Yuanzhang led a very strong and powerful army to take control of the Yuan Dynasty and they were successful. That led them to gain power. They consolidated by trading and it was even more beneficial to them since they were in Asia and near the water so it was easy for them to use boats to travel and trade. They also secured their borders from their enemies by building the Great Wall of China. They managed to maintain power by allowing everyone in the empire freedom of religion and fair rules and they had good economic income from trading.
He killed millions of people and many people suffered under his rule. Emperor Qin was a very strict ruler. He believed in Legalism. He believed in strict rules and strict punishments.
What I mean is that Qin Shihuangdi did many good things during his time too while being ruler. According to the article “ The First Emperor “ it states that, Qin Shihuangdi finish the great wall of china, but it took 30 years to built, and it cost lives of countless thousand of laborers. Also on the article “Ancient Civilization” Qin Shihuangdi had an organized country with laws, punishments, and taxes but no one like him as a ruler because he like to wasted money on himself and not his country.
Qin Shi Huang-di is often regarded as a great leader within history. However, he was also paranoid and got rid of anyone who disagreed with him, but without Qin, there might be no China. Furthermore, despite his mixed reputation today, he brought six warring kingdoms together to form the basis of a country that has lasted to this day, an impressive feat that was a huge turning point in Chinese history. Qin’s effect on China and by default, on the other countries of the world was enormous. In fact, his dynasty, the Qin dynasty, even gave China its name (“Shi Huangdi Becomes Emperor”).
