Yoko and Ko comparison

In the book The bamboo grove the two main characters Yoko and Ko whom are sisters,they evacuated their home in korea so now they are forced to live off the little they have.

Yoko is a young eleven year old girl going to school in Kyoto,Japan she is a little krabby and whiny at times.Yoko gets bullied and picked on at school for picking out of trash cans for school supplies that they cannot afford.

Ko is a sixteen year old girl who practically raises her little sister yoko after her mother dies,Ko had to grow up to fast and on top of raising Yoko she goes and sells crafts and dose shoe shines for money.

In conclusion it seams that Yoko and Ko are mostly different but are also alike at some times.
