For my project I created a bunch of poems, and pictures to match the corresponding poem. Each poem is colored and kind of neatly drawn with a typed explanation on the back. My main theme that I was going for on this project was happiness. I think happiness is something that needs to be more happy. I don’t think that people are as happy as what they should be. I think people stress to much and they worry too much about the little things. People need to look up at the sky and look at all of the happy things in life. Happiness is such a vital thing to life, you need happiness in your life to be happy. No matter what the situation is you need to look at the upside of things that are going on a round you even when you think there is no hope, …show more content…
The poem goes like this. “ you brought sunshine when I saw rain you brought laughter when I only felt pain”. I think this is very deep, I think that many people can relate to this and everyone has had someone create this impact on their life before. Whether is be a mother or father or family member, or a significant other I think that almost everyone can relate to this, as it really speaks to each other, and gets them thinking about all the good that people have brought into their lives, and how someone else’s presence has changed them for the better. I know I can relate to this first hand, I have met people who have really helped me, and people who have really changed my life for the better. I also drew a picture of the sun and the clouds as the come together as one they make a face, a happy face. A face that will brighten anyone’s day as they look up to the sun they see the brightness of the sun and it brings them immediate happiness, as it warms their bodies and their lives. It’s good to just take a moment and look up at the sky, and to think of the good things that life has brought you and to all the people around you. I believe just happiness is the best cure for anyone who is feeling down, and for anyone who is feeling down they just need to feel up, as happiness is never
This poem is a representation of not only her immense grieving for her father, but how she used this low point in her life to evolve as an individual and make peace with her loss. Tracy K Smith’s poem
This particular poem is about parents that have no idea what's going on in their kid's daily life and what they go through. With this type of action, the parents act as if all is good and make little to no effort to get involved in their day to day activities. This shows the kid that the parent does not care or seems like it. The kid will be influenced to do things they normally wouldn't do. If the parent would at least make an attempt to get involved, it may influence them for the better but until then it will not happen.
This poem clearly expresses how community and collaboration brings out the best in people by showing how she and her sister were going through hard times but were able to work together and comfort each
This is an important role of poetry because everyone loses something precious to them at some point in their life. Her next example talks of a person who can receive
This poem showed that anyone can be somebody no matter what background they came from or situation they're in. He then proceeded to say that people need
Always Something More Beautiful “Always Something More Beautiful” is a poem by Stephen Dunn, born in Forest Hills, NY. I got attracted to this poem, because it reminded me when I was at the Regionals for a Cross-Country race and reflected how humans’ life can be fair or beautiful. The cluster “time, clock, finish” clarifies for a measurement that refers to a competitive race.
People want to be happy, isn’t that right? Well, aren’t they?’” (Bradbury 56). All people want in life is to be happy. They want to be untroubled and not have to stress about what’s going on in the real world.
The poem really expresses how one mother values her son, and tells you how kids grow up to fast and she believes that her little boy cannot handle the challenges life throws at you. At the end of poem, the mom is surprised that her son learns to get out of the chains and get past the challenges he has been through. Families will always have a strong bond and it can never be broken, no matter what life throws at your family, you will always get though it and find new ways to make your relationship even stronger. Later in life as the kids get older, they learn that their mom will not always be there for you, so they start to get close with their mom and they realize all the wonderful things your mom did for you.
The tone of the poem is slightly sad, but reassuring. The first stanza is somber because the woman is old and seemingly alone. But, when the second stanza is read, readers are reassured and are able to see the love the speaker has for the woman. "But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, / And loved the sorrows of your changing face. "(7-8).
The literary elements in this poem add to the effect the poem has on the reader, which can be different for everyone, but it makes the reader reflect on their own life and how kindness has changed
The poem feels very personal, as if the reader is reading a private letter between two dear friends, perhaps due to the fact that Lanyer uses
Rina Morooka Mr Valera Language Arts Compare and Contrast essay on “The poet’s obligation”, “When I have fears that I may cease to be”, and “In my craft of sullen art” The three poems, “The poet’s obligation” by Neruda, “when I have fears that I may cease to be” by Keats, and “In my craft of sullen art” by Thomas, all share the similarity that they describe poets’ relationships with their poems. However, the three speakers in the three poems shared different views on their poetry; the speaker in Neruda’s poem believes that his poems which were born out of him stored creativity to people who lead busy and tiring life, and are in need of creativity, while the speaker in Keats’ poem believes that his poems are like tools to write down what
In this poem, we are taught to value everyone because we don’t know their stories and we don’t know what they have been through. An example of this is “He tried to kill himself in grade ten when a kid who could still go home to mom and dad had the audacity to tell him “get over it” as if depression is something that can be remedied by any of the contents found in a first aid
“A Memory of Youth”: Yeats and Erotic Experience A cloud blown from the cut-throat north Suddenly hid Love’s moon away. The “cloud”—amorphous and obstructing—cuts into the scene, as well as the poem, with a sudden violence, in order to block the image of “Love’s moon”. The cloud itself cannot have definite dimensions, as it exists to only hide the moon, casting the speaker of the poem, his love and the cloud itself in a continuous darkness. It is in this darkness that the speaker of the poem finds his own perception and experiences clouded, indicating his blind submission to erotic love in lieu of a more illuminating, comprehensive “Love”.
