In the article “You Say You Want a Devolution?” The author, Andersen, claims that from around the 1980s-2010s that there hasn’t been much change in our culture. When in reality almost everything has changed, from the type of music people listen to, to the clothes that they wear, and most importantly how technology is used. The world is always changing and improving. Andersen writes that much of the music that is around today is the same as it was twenty years ago. “ Lady Gaga has replaced Madonna, Adele has replaced Mariah Carey” (Andersen). Nothing is being replaced though, These people are still around and still producing their own music. Yes, most songs have repeating themes, but that is only because they are popular. Music has and will always be around, so of course some songs will sound similar or an artist will resemble another, but that is bound to occur in a world filled with seven billion people. …show more content…

If multiple people like a certain style then it becomes a trend, and some people will continue to like it even it goes out of style. “Look at people on the street and in malls— jeans and sneakers remain the standard uniform for all ages, as they were in 2002, 1992, and 1982”(Andersen) this look may have not changed over the course of forty years, but it has always been around, it was trend in fifties and sixties as well.
