Google defines social media as websites and computer programs that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. The most popular social media right now would be Facebook, Instagram, snap talk/discussion, and WhatsApp. The usage of social media has an increase of the years cause people to become more connected with friends and family across the world. Studies show that over the years youth has increased in the use of social media to connect with friends or stayed connected with friends over that have gone across the ocean. Most people engage with social media without stopping to think what the effects are in our lives, whether positive or negative.Youth have been affected by (TV, the Internet, etc.) which has destroyed positives values and (point of view/way of behaving). Media has now become an important influence in youth life cause youth to experience thing at an early age. Most young people are exposed to music and videos which talk about having a lot of money, women, and cars as being the best ways to enjoy life. This has caused students to want to leave their life in the same way and forgetting the positive values that their family has put in them causing them to turn away from a Christian (way of living) just because it isn't "cool". Different types of media do different types of damage to young people. For example, young people that spend a lot of time watching violent cartoon shows on television learn ways in which to hurt other or offended people at an early stage in their life. This problem can be more serious for our youth belonging to the minorities and communities that are unfairly treated. In online interactions, young people with unknown identities may easily do the hate speech or disrespectful behavior. Youth that is spending too much time online on social media may think about/believe a virtual relation substitute for a real one. By spending more time online they often ignore the importance and the appropriate behavior related to a face-to-face contact. Because of this, the set of ability to get along well with others that are necessary for the success in the real life may not develop properly. Also, those unknown online users may do the aggressive or offensive behavior. Our youth may think if such (angry, violent behavior) or offensive is committed in real life situation. This may result in social suspicion towards the unknown
