1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Youth participation in wildlife tourism is defined as the independent travel by the young population usually between fifteen years to twenty-nine years of age without the company of their guardian or their parent.(Du Cros, 2014; Karmenivannan & Swamy, 2014).
Despite the youth being pacesetters who bring out the attractiveness of a particular destination
(Karmenivannan & Swamy, 2014), only a third of nations have youth travel policy, less than a third, collect youth participation in wildlife tourism statistics on the market, just a quarter have policies for product development and less than a third have a marketing policy (Demeter &
Bratucu, 2014).

Youth participation in wildlife tourism values their schedules and report their travel experiences with the most memorable being the unexpected and the most powerful discoveries being those made by themselves (Clarke 2004).
African youths have high potential in youth participation in wildlife tourism as compared to other continents since the overall population of youths in Africa is over 200 million which accounts for 35% of the total population in Africa with more people aged under 20 years than anywhere in the world (Page, 2012). In Kenya, youth participation in wildlife tourism is perceived to be an extension of the education system, which familiarizes the young people with their country and has not been classified as a separate category (UNTWO 2005). Communities and businesses particularly benefit from adventurous young travellers, reducing leakages and stimulate investment (Rogerson, 2011; Freeman, 2015; Diekmann & McCabe, 2011).
Given this rise in growth of youths in Kenya, there is need for the tourism industry,

Contributions of these study is of utter importance and would be of great importance to scholars’ in the tourism sector, destination managers as well as tourism managers. The tourism literature largely considers specific cases of tourism and either take a critical or the prescriptive approach, but does not adequately focus on the opportunities presented by youth participation in wildlife tourism and the challenges faced. This research will aim to contribute to this literature by considering such an approach which integrates both critical and perspectives.

Journal Entry # 6 Miriam Zoila Perez: How Racism harms pregnant women and what can help Miriam Zoila Perez brings up some interesting points with regards to maternal health and race. I was intrigued to hear of her experience as a doula at a public hospital in North Carolina where she observed firsthand how race impacted quality of treatment. The statistic she shared with regards to deep south infant mortality rates being on par with Sub-saharan Africa is absolutely staggering and sad. To me, it almost illustrates a long held cultural belief that minorities are still considered inferior to the Arian race and that
The life of an African American consists of hardships. People are constantly becoming infected with diseases, then left to die without any medication or treatments available to them. Children in Africa are most prone to diseases due to their extremely weak immune systems. Moreover, children are not the only victims of diseases because when parents become immensely sick, their children take on the responsibility of running the family. In this case, children try to overtake jobs their parents abandoned to help support their suffering family; however, continuing an adult job can be overwhelming for a young African.
An important role that the Indianapolis Zoo plays is connecting people to the natural world by allowing interactions to animals that they may never encounter otherwise. By creating that interaction we open up a dialogue to share with them the true status of the wild places of our planet. Often, I feel that the general person envisions the environment as pristine wildernesses where remote places are free from human induced issues. In reality, there are few places untouched or truly pristine. What zoos and aquariums excel at is bringing these issues to the forefront of our guests without making doomsday statements.
In an effort to ensure effective comprehension and validity, it is important to rely on credible sources and avoid making unsubstantiated claims. Finally, all messages should include a clear call to action, encouraging the audience to take specific steps to support conservation efforts. Providing practical suggestions for ways that individuals can get involved, such as volunteering or making a donation, can help to increase engagement and mobilize action. By using this writing knowledge and skills, members of the wildlife protection community can help to inspire others to take action and
This leads to my following reason, with the help from zoos, people are associating themselves to find possible solutions for this problem. An article made by Sarah Cunningham claims that ‘“Research shows that during these visits, people forge emotional connections to wildlife and learn to see themselves as part of conservation solutions”’ (Doc. B). Zoos are known as a resource to educate people to learn more about wildlife conservation. One of their objectives as an attraction is to inform people of what has been happening.
Introduction Over the next 84 years Sub Saharan Africa is expected to account for 80% of the projected 5.3 billion increase in the global population. Through out this substantial population increase over the next few decades, Western Africa will see a population increase for the working age of 2.1 billion while the global increase will be only 2 billion. As, technology progresses and the standard of care becomes easier and more affordable, Western Africa is seeing declining fertility and mortality rates, resulting 64% of their population being that of the working age. With the rise of Western Africa’s working population, so does their potential for economic growth; when most developed nations face increased aging populations.

Children follow the same pattern of development, but at different rates, reaching their milestones at different times. In a babyâ€TMs early years, development happens fast so their milestones are close together, becoming further apart as they grow older. The aspects of development are measured as physical, language and communication, social, emotional, moral, and behavioural challenges and intellectual and cognitive development. Physical Development
Lions, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, and zebras are all the wildlife animals that are able to be spotted in safari. Safari is one of the main tourist “to do list” because tourists like to explore the different things a country has to offer. Kenya offers wildlife viewing throughout the year but sometimes the tourists luck out on seeing some to any animals due to the timing they chose to explore. The perfect time to go view animals on a safari tour is during the dry season from June to October. A definite worth seeing migration during this time is the wildebeest migration.
This is, however, a perfect site for community recreation students interested in outdoor recreation because you are able to experience how professionals immerse young people in the outdoors, which can ultimately shape how they feel about outdoor recreation later in their
Introduction The notion of the "African Child" is a social construction that varies across time and place. Moreover, every child's experience across the world is very individualized based on their own personal experiences. Karen Wells (2009), noted that childhood is a social construction which is composed through a complexity of social frameworks consisting of social, political, cultural, laws, policies, beliefs, economic institutions, and the interaction between both adults and children. The idea of the African Child has changed throughout history, and across time and space. Africa is a very vast continent consisting of fifty-four countries, and a population of approximately 1.16 billion people (Population Pyramid, 2015).
The above description do set the scene part for this essay on the tourist behaviour and it is the main initial point for the final description of the topic which is to be shaped further. To completely understand the tourist behaviour, it requires searching out the individual experiences and the motivations of travelling. There are many of the researches and studies one in past by the great authors and researchers on the individual experiences and their motivations of travelling. The tourist behaviour in recent past has been studied with great efforts and many of the conclusions had been drawn regarding the crucial factors which do have an impact on the decision making of the tourist’s. There is a great risk involved in the process of destinations decision making.
Benefits of Tourism Tourism is an important activity that people has undertaken for a very long time in the most countries around the world. In recent time it has been recognized as an important social and economic phenomenon. As well as its direct effect it has indirect effects both on the society and at the individual level. . The interaction between tourists and poor communities can provide a number of intangible and practical benefits. These can range from increased awareness of cultural, environmental, and economic issues and values, on both sides, to mutual benefits from improved local investment in infrastructure.
Tourism is the income of people from one place to another place for vacation, but it can also be for business or entertainment. Tourism can either be international or domestic. Tourism has an influence on any country, either it’s for a positive impact or a negative impact. An example one might consider includes that the tourism in that individual country could possibly increase the income and positively improve the economic aspect of the country, but tourism can also negatively impact the environment. Tourism can also affect the population living in the country due to the amount of tourism which furthers the idea of more jobs need to be created for the new tourists.
