My name is Zerof Archimedes. I know that my name sounds special, but I am just a simple merchant. Making a living at a peaceful, quiet starter village selling gear and potions to beginning adventurers.
Because of my fancy-sounding name, adventurers would often burst through my door, demanding a fight, because they thought I was some sort of "Special Boss", an enemy who's rumored to be even more powerful than the Final Boss himself.
Other than these random incursions, my life has been rather peaceful.
I watched these youths enter my shop, thinking back to my days when I was just as reckless (note: I'm currently 23). But, of course, I was not naive enough to purposefully seek a life of never-ending peril and hardship. I decided to carry on the Archimedes family tradition by becoming a

The priest turned his gaze towards us (me, especially). The look in his eyes was a mix of deathly and shocked beyond all belief. "This man …… " He began speaking; his voice was shaky. "No, this being you slew …"
"He is the Final Boss."
We all froze (me, especially).
In an ironic twist of fate, it seems that the rowdy customer, who gave me trouble and told me "fairy tales" of how many strong adventurers he had killed, was, in actuality, the Final Boss of this realm (a being of immense power to rival the gods themselves). And I, a simple merchant, ended up being the one to end his centuries-long career.
Immediately, the two guards kneeled and bowed at my feet. "Chosen Hero of Prophecy," one of them spoke. "We are honored to be in thine presence."
And this is how I went from a simple merchant to "Chosen Hero of Prophecy" in one fight. I looked upon the two with a bewildered expression. At the time, I had no idea where this incident would lead me. But I did know one thing …
My days would only be more contrived and grueling than they ever were before.
Goodbye, my quiet, peaceful life
Thank goodness for that water Levi got me, I think silently to myself, but the way the guards look at me, it is as if they know everything that I am thinking of. I ignore the eyes on my back and keep picking like every other day, but today doesn’t feel like everything other day. It’s not the guards, it’s the water, even though no one seemed to notice I still feel like trouble is lurking around the corners like a cat waiting to pounce at the slightest of movement. Maybe a guard did notice and he’s just waiting ‘till the end of the day to gather everyone around to show why you should do what they say.
With the death of the dictator, I returned to Italy and began my career in politics as a prosecuting advocate. During my travel to study philosophy in Rhodes, I was kidnapped by pirates. Showing my skills of counter-insurgency, I persuaded my captors to raise ransom. The pirates did in which my men paid off and then returned with a naval force and captured
Beowulf, a new translated verse by Seamus Heaney, a story about a hero who defeats monsters for his people. A hero has courage when he can fight for others, speak his mind, and conquer any obstacles. This paper is about how Beowulf has courage and uses it to protect others against the dangerous monsters in there kingdom. Beowulf wasn’t one of those people who sent others to do what needs to be done, he did it himself. Beowulf spoke whatever came to mind, especially if it’s important.
This is the story of two great men in two different eras. Joseph, a biblical man with great power and authority sold from the land of Canaan to the land of Egypt. Gilgamesh starts off with a powerful live and then goes through some turbulence and Joseph start out with turbulence and becomes powerful.
“ THEN... THE… DEVIL” Tom was speaking. I then looked up. “Ooh… Thats why” I said.
PART 1: Confronting the Wizard and the Warrior within The wizard and the warrior inhabit two different but touching worlds. The warrior’s world is a place of battle, of allies and antagonists, courage and weakness, honor and betrayal, strength and weakness. The wizard occupies a realm of opportunity, magic and mystery. The wizard’s strength lies not in weapons or physical courage, but in wisdom, foresight, the capability to see under and beyond looks.
Prince Caspian, written by the divine author C. S. Lewis, portrays a daring adventure and a battle for freedom while characters obtain braveness, courage, leadership, and patience through spiritual instruction. The spectacular setting of this widely known book takes place in the land of Narnia, and the period of time when there were kings, kingdoms and castles, and when battles were fought with swords, catapults and pure skill. Prince Caspian, a remarkable book from C. S. Lewis’s series, The Chronicles of Narnia, affected me in many ways, and caused me to stop and deem through the range of spiritual character traits portrayed, and how I may apply them to my own life. In C. S. Lewis’ Prince Caspian, there includes a protagonist, antagonists,
Always encountering success, Gilgamesh was once a tyrant to his people. Reflecting on his rule, he recalls that, “He demanded from an old birthright/the privilege of sleeping with their brides” (15). His triumphs fostered arrogance. To him, everyone else paled in comparison. When he experiences defeat, however, Gilgamesh grows as a leader, seeing the similarities between him and his subjects, their common humanity.
Everyone has a perspective on good and evil; the battle line between good and even runs through the heart. “Beowulf” illuminates characters that come from dark and deep backgrounds that construct their dauntless actions. In the heroic tale “Beowulf,” the author’s tones strongly demonstrates themes of loyalty, honor, and courage. Raffel’s tones remotely displays the act of loyalty within multiple characters. “Hail to these who will rise to God, drop off their dead bodies” (101).
Prophets and prophecies abound in Western literature. From the ancient texts designed for people of all walks of life— such as Homer’s Odyssey and Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex, to more modern works targeted to specific audiences— such as the Harry Potter and Gregor the Underlander series, authors have employed the literary device of prophecies to entice the reader to stay with the story. Instead of telling the reader outright what is going to happen, or how a situation will play out, the author offers a prophecy of some kind to the reader. Such prophecies are generally ambiguous, and often the reader is left confused as to what is actually going to happen. By using this technique, the author piques the interest of the reader yet allows for the
(“From the Day of Destiny” pp 199). These heroes showed that not only did their strengths help them defeat evil, but also the help of their magical swords. In addition, both epic and romantic heroes shared courageous traits throughout the story that made them so memorable. When faced with the challenge of defeating the dragon Beowulf said to his followers “ this fight is not yours… except me” ( “from beowulf” pp 33).
The stories of his triumph over the monsters spread throughout the land, affecting the other’s views on him as a loyal man and a hero through it all. In
The ground around the two beings started to tremor and shake, it was as if the tension that everyone was feeling was physically manifesting itself…. The original Being whom took up the moniker of “God,” finally spoke
From diseases to terrorist organizations, the evils of the world will meet their match with the same bravery and charitable attitude as Beowulf and King Hrothgar in the epic poem of
In both the epic Gilgamesh and The Odyssey; The Wise Old Man is seen giving nonmaterial gifts in the form of advice to the protagonists of each story, and he is most often encountered when the heroes are experiencing dark and troubling times. The Wise Old Man” is prevalent in many classic and contemporary works, but especially in ancient literature. In Gilgamesh; the hero encounters The Wise Old Man during a dark and hopeless time of his journey; when Gilgamesh crosses the sea of death to find Utnapishtim. In a similar situation, Odysseus travels to the underworld to seek advice from Theben Tiresias.
