Good day. Who has ever gone camping before? I am pretty sure most of you did. If you haven't, well then you should probably try it out. I can guarantee you that if you are a person like me then you will love it. Also, I can suggest a very awesome place to visit when going camping. Here are three reasons for you to go camping at Hammonasset State Park. The first reason is because of family and friends. When you are camping for a week or more you get to spend all of your time with your favorite people
There was a running stream that ran from north to south a few meters away from where we were sitting, the fizzing of the leaves above us from the pine trees was very soothing and an eerie coyote cry made the night even more interesting. We were at the back porch playing fish or cut bait, a pretty simplistic but yet challenging board game that tested your ability to do fast decisions that wouldn 't affect the rest of your turn in the game. We had simple snacks and a charming background acoustic guitar
Day 1: The Blake forest is une of the most beautiful things I've seen. My friends and I were camping for the winter break before entering college, we thought we were going to have fun but that was our mistake. It was night when the real hell began, we were all sitting around the campfire telling the typical horror stories that our parents told us when we hear a branch break. "Who's there?" I ask but nobody answered, suddenly saw a woman 25 years I started walking towards us, "Who are you?" I ask

Asleep on the Beach submitted 13 hours ago by ravacah I was a boy scout, though its been a few years since I’ve had much to do with them, but that’s a story for another time. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the program, there are these things you can get called merit badges, which basically are like “hey, I learned a bit about this topic”. Most years, troops will go to an official scout camp to work on stuff like that for a week or so. This is an experience I had at Camp Meriwether, which
My Woodstock journey started about three days before the festival was set to begin. A couple of my friends, myself included, heard a promotion for Woodstock on the radio and one day later we decided to pack our bags and hit the road. It was roughly a two hour drive from New York City, where I was living at the time. There we started a week we would never forget. The drive to Bethel wasn’t too bad, it was full of laughs and lots of hash. We were about 20 miles from the site of the festival and traffic

After I got my stuff there we had to go down to rehearsal in the Neumann Auditorium, this took about an hour and a half. The cool thing is that after that rehearsal everybody came and then we got to record all of our songs! We would sing them until they were as close to perfect as we could get! Sometimes we did a song once, sometimes we did it three times. Almost 2 hours later we were finally done recording and camp was over. It was a bittersweet moment for me because I had a really good time at
I was contacted by Lisa Williamson from the Osan Girl Scouts about bringing our dogs over to assist the girls in getting their badges. I understand from Teka to you have been inquiring with the (Girl Scouts & perhaps the Boy Scouts) here to set up a troop visitation. Have you set up anything here yet and what are the requirements for the badges? Please let me know, are they for a badge they are making themselves or ones already in place such as a Pet Care Badge? What age groups are we looking
ever want to do it again, so I was uncertain about how I wanted to do the trip, until I realized that most of the good I get out of backpacking comes from the views and the people I’m with, rather than the hiking. I realized that I could hike to a camping spot, set up camp, and just hang out around there for a couple days. I thought about
As our life demands more and more of our time, it is important that we find a place that we can go to unplug and become one with nature. Although there are many places to go to unwind, nothing quite compares to a park. When you hear the word “park” you might think of swings and children playing on the merry-go-round. However, what I am referring to is the park in the more natural sense; a State Park. Of the many I have visited in Florida; Fort Clinch is by far my favorite. Fort Clinch State Park
Boy Scouts when he published a handbook known as scouting for boys. Many English boys bought the handbook published by Powell (Boy Scouts movement begins, 2018, para 2). With the aid of other adults Powell talked to a group of boys about boating, camping, life-saving skills, wood crafting, patriotism and chivalry. Powell had a method where he would teach young boys things they had never done before and then made them complete those tasks to build on their confidence they were assisted by other scouts
Three weeks of on the-job training, immersed in nature, with fire-cooked food, wonderful people, and a surprisingly low number of mosquitos. What more could a girl want during her Summer vacation? Camp has always provided me with a supportive and inspiring environment growing up. Each year I was encouraged to step out of my comfort zone and grow as a person. After a few years as a camper, I aspired to become a counselor so that I could return the favor to future girls. Over last Summer, I participated
produces? Spending time in the wilderness was not something I thought possible. A friend of my mom told us to go camping with them at Apex, North Carolina and visit Jordan Lake. Jordan Lake is known for their recreational events, which include: boating, fishing, camping, hiking and much more. My family and I decided to give it a try and see if we would enjoy it or not. Buying supplies to go camping was our first stop. We bought sleeping bags, a tent for four people and even a canoe! Food, drinks, utensils
Trail Life USA vs. Boy Scouts of America Trail Life USA (TLUSA) and Boy Scouts of America (BSA) are two youth development organizations that share a similar mission: to provide young people with the opportunity to grow through skill development, outdoor experiences, and service to others. The two organizations have similar programs for youth. Both TLUSA and BSA offer activities in outdoor education and exploration, citizenship, character development, and service. The primary difference between the
Dear, Friend I thought since you have never been camping before I would let you know what it is like. It is like day 3 on our camping trip the past couple days have been interesting, the only thing I don't like about camping is you sleep in tents outside and it can get really could so you have like 5 blankets on you. When you are camping you don't really get normal food that you eat everyday you have to cook everything over the fire and it is actually really good! My favorite food to cook over the
Introduction Chirp! Cries a gleeful river otter as it slides down a muddy slope into the water. The river otter belongs to the weasel family, with its North American relatives that include the mink, fisher, ermine, badger, wolverine, skunk, and the marten. The typical male river is about three feet long and weighs about eighteen pounds. They are even similar to their cousin, the skunks, that spray a “musk” from two glands under their tail. However the “musk” doesn’t stink, in fact it smells sweet

All Summer in a Day Author's Craft Essay In life, people never truly realize what they have, until it's gone. Imagine having to wait seven years for the sun to come out again, but only for a few hours and then disappearing again for another seven years. Well for the kids of Venus, that is typical life. Ray Bradbury's All Summer in a Day uses a variety of author's craft such as imagery, similes and metaphors to show readers the childrens deep need for freedom away from the rain that consumes their
