Literary criticism, by definition, involves analyzing, interpreting, and assessing a piece of literature or an author’s entire body of work. It is usually an opinion that delves into the themes, writing style, and settings of a literary work.
Contrary to its literal meaning, criticism can have a positive or a negative connotation. And while it may contain some brief elements of a plot summary and biographical notes about the author, it must not be confused with either of these.
The ipl Literary Criticism Collection contains critical and biographical websites about authors and their works that can be browsed by author, by title, or by nationality and literary period.
The collection is not inclusive of all the work on the web, nor does it plan to be. The sites are selected with some thought to their overall usefulness.
