Abortion Abortion is one of the most talked about issues right now. Everyone seems to have an opinion, a strong one. This is still a debate, even though in 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that the procedure is a fundamental right in the case Roe v. Wade (Abortion ProCon.org, 1). Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before you have gone full term, which means that the embryo cannot survive on its own. The two sides of the debate are pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life is the people who do not like the idea of abortion. They claim that life begins at conception and that abortion is murder. They also say that the fetus can feel pain during the abortion and that it is unfair to families that cannot conceive on their own that are waiting to adopt …show more content…
They also claim that even though these cases are tragic, they do not erase the humanity of the unborn child, (We Need Abortion, 1). The statistics are also on their side, in 2004, only 1.4% of abortions were rape cases, (We Need Abortion, 1). They also claim that the guilty should be punished, the rapist, and not the innocent, the child. The child never did anything wrong. This shows that while yes, these are tragic, a majority of the abortion cases have not been rape cases, so why keep it around for these rare occurrences? My stance on abortion is that it should be illegal, unless there are health risks involved, major ones. Other than that, I really do not feel you should get an abortion. There is always adoption. If you do not want the baby, then give it to someone who does. That seems to be the best option in any other case, because you should allow the child a right to life. I really do not see this debate ever getting anywhere because there is so much support from both sides of the debate. I don’t think that we will ever come to a conclusion that is able to satisfy both sides of the
Abortion is a very controversial topic. There are two parties pro-life and pro-choice. The The two parties have had a long and brutal fight (Gale Student Resources in Context). The cause of this is, despite what people believe, abortion is neither wrong nor right. A women has the right to terminate her pregnancy under certain circumstances or keep it.
Pro-life is defined as being opposed to legalized abortion. Pro-choice is to believe that individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own reproductive systems as long as they do not breach the autonomy of others. A pro-choice affirms that celibacy and abstinence, contraception use, emergency contraception use, abortion when it is done in the first two trimesters of pregnancy and childbirth must remain legal. (Christian,2011) When we think of abortion, the first thing that we think of is killing of an unborn innocent child. I am against abortion, but I guess everybody has the right do to whatever they want and whatever they feel is best for them.
There’s generally two sides when discussing abortion. The pro-life supporters are people who oppose abortion no matter the circumstance and the pro-choice supporters are people who believe that pregnant women should have the right to choose if they want to keep or terminate their pregnancy. Pro-choice for me is about allowing people to assess their situations, think hard about their options and then choose what is best in their particular circumstances. In
Imagine yourself at twelve years old, getting brutally attacked by someone you thought was going to protect you forever and was family. Then you end up pregnant by someone you thought was very close to you, you either have to live knowing the fact that your family member has raped you and you have to raise a child that you didn’t have a part in making or terminate the pregnancy. On average a woman is pregnant for 38 weeks. However, what if the woman makes the decision that she doesn’t want to follow through with the pregnancy? If a woman or a child decides to no longer be pregnant, abortion is a popular way to terminate a pregnancy.
Abortion Argument According to the Webster Dictionary, abortion is a medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of a fetus. As we know the topic on abortion is a personal matter. Some women will argue if a woman is not ready to bring a child into the world, than what right do people have to tell her she can’t have an abortion. While others will argue why kill an innocent child?
Upon conception an individual is created, this individual has the right to life and should be protected. Dr. Maureen Condic tells us that the most primitive responses to pain in the spinal cord are developed by eight weeks gestation and that it is a universal agreement that pain is detected by the fetus in the first trimester. Dr. Bernard Nathanson stated that when an abortion is performed on a 12 week old fetus, “we see (on an ultrasound machine) the child’s mouth open in a silent scream.” It is immoral to kill a child for convenience. People are having sex and should know that even with using a form of contraceptive there will be a risk of pregnancy.
On one side of the argument people believe that it 's wrong to kill an unborn child because all life is important regardless of if there born or not. Often the people who are “pro life” are also Christian or belong to another
Abortion Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before the fetus (unborn child) has developed and grown enough to live outside the mother. Most induced abortions are performed in the first trimester of pregnancy . I believe that abortion is wrong unless involved in criminal activity There’s already been debates over abortion. Members of the right-to-life movement believe that abortion is morally wrong and should be prohibited.
Abortion is a huge problem, not just in the United States but also all over the world. Abortion is a termination of a pregnancy, usually within the first 28 weeks. Some people believe abortion is murder, while others believe it is not. Abortion is a social problem. In order to be a social problem, the issue must affect a group of people.
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
If we force women to carry the child, it would cause physical and possibly emotional pain. We should allow women to choose what they can do with their bodies. When women can choose when to have their children, their children grow up in a more optimal environment meaning less crime rates and possibly less child abuse rates. Abortion does not only benefit the women, letting her have another option besides caring the child. It benefits the child from possible child abuse as well as society from less criminals and having to spend less money on future welfare
Abortion is in fact the ending of pregnancy before birth and refers to the destruction of the embryo or foetus prior to life by removing the fetus in the uterus. An abortion can be either occurs naturally, that is due to an accident, disease, trauma or genetic incompatibility of the mother and foetus. Or, it can occur artificially, that is the foetus is removed by medical means or in the backstreet by unqualified people known as charlatans. Such risky abortions often result in septicaemia. Abortion is a major problem affecting most couples especially when contraceptives are ineffective.
A fetus is a life, it becomes a life the moment its heart beats. It is a life that did not ask to be brought to this world specially to be killed in the horrific way they do it. By destroying it the way they do. That is why when it comes to abortion, I am against
Abortion Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by abolishing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion is a very controversial topic, for example, one side of this topic believes abortion is cruel and committing murder, while the other side believes that since the fetus or embryo isn 't developed enough to be considered a living human being yet, that abortion is not commiting murder. Despite this information, there is a lot more to abortion than the opinion of it being “right” or “wrong”. According to “Students for life” who are pro life, about 1 million abortions are executed each year in the US. That data adds up to 22% of pregnancies ending in abortion.
Abortion has many pros and cons ha deserve to be properly discussed ad deliberated upon, before one makes a decision to support or oppose it. Every year man young women within the United States find themselves faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Whether it was unplanned or they were a victim of un consensual sex,it should naturally be the woman 's choice to have the baby or not. As young wom it can be more stressful to take on the responsibil of a child,i can even be life threatening. In some cases it is necessary to abo the baby
