Alexander the Great was a successful leader and tactician. Even though he was successful in these departments, we don’t see much of his politician skills being used. Alexander the Great, born in the northern kingdom of Greece, Macedonia, is easily one of the most famous people in history. Known for conquering most of what they knew as the world, Alexander accomplished a lot. From leadership, to tactics he used in battle, Alexander the Great was a successful man. Alexander was successful as a leader. The tactics he used to confuse the enemy greatly contributed to his success. His ability to protect his people was a skill that would make or break his success. Without these tactics and strategies, the people who he conquered would be way more hesitant toward him because they weren’t guaranteed safety. When he was in battle against Porus, he moved and organized his army to confuse him (Document B). He was a great tactician by moving his army in a way to confuse the enemy. This was a smart move to do because moving his army around gave him more time to defeat the enemy. When in battle, you have to use quick thinking to win. The impact he left emotionally on the people was very important. “He conquered the world and was a very great man, brave and dauntless and was generous to his followers.” (Document F). The evidence presented shows the character of Alexander. We can see the impact he left on the people. The writer describes Alexander dauntless and brave which shows the person he presented himself to be. His people/social skills were just as important as his tactician or leader skills. How he acted contributed to his success just as much if not more than his leader and tactician
