New-York Representative Bertrand Hollis Snell took on a plethora of important roles and leadership positions during his time in politics, with one of the most prominent being his position as minority leader during the Seventy-second through Seventy-fifth Congresses. On December 9th, 1870, Snell was born in Colton, St. Lawrence County, New York. He attended public schools and eventually attended Amherst College in Massachusetts. Alongside with his significant involvement in politics, Bertrand Snell was also known for leadership positions in big businesses.
