Charles Joseph “Buddy” Bolden is considered the father of jazz music. His specialty is the cornet which he played in his band that was discovered as the first group to play jazz music. The rhythm from his talent inspired the perfect sound to dance to. Though his music entertained crowds of people, a recording of Bolden’s ability was never created. It is only up to the imagination of what he really sounded like. After falling into a rut of alcohol, his health started to decline. He experienced headaches, anxiety, and paranoia which led to his enrollment in the Louisiana State asylum. Logically, alcohol was the cause of his behavior but some people think he was under a voodoo curse. In 1931, he died at the asylum where he was capable of playing the cornet until his last breaths. His legacy inspires every upcoming jazz musician today.

The early 1900s came and his band continued to be the regarded with high excellence in New Orleans (Charles “Buddy” Bolden Creator). It seems that a staple part of being a musician is involvement with drugs or alcohol; Chet Baker had his heroin addiction, along with many others; Charles Joseph Bolden had troubles with alcoholism. As the start of the new century dawned, it marked the golden era of Bolden’s band. He was famous for his improvisation, fusing marching-band style, blues, ragtime, and spiritual Black music (Charles “Buddy” Bolden Creator Charles “Buddy” Bolden National). Ray Charles was an outstanding performer, a piano player, and a songwriter. Despite the fact that he had been blind from early childhood, Ray Charles had managed to become a brilliant pianist. At the beginning of his musical career, he happened to accompany the rising star, Ruth Brown, with a piano play. Ray Charles stunned her with the ability to perform as if it was in a recording studio in spite of his blindness. Besides his masterly piano playing, Ray Charles had a remarkable baritone voice and the ability to feel and express music.

With the four major elements of music, melody, harmony, tone and rhythm, this traditional band had them all. In my opinion, a jazz musician has more knowledge, and understanding of their instrument, then most musicians. For example, the vocalist Paul King, unlike today’s modern music, his voice is just another instrument. The vocalist is expected to have the same control and command over his instrument, as the rest of the band. Rarely, can you find a singer of such quality.

Jazz was a whole world in and of itself, it had its own language, it had its own territory, and even had its own culture.
The use of midi and mixing boards means that even on live gigs jazz players can still have an A* performance and their live gigs will sound like their recorded versions, and also if they want to record their live performances to use in the studio or at another performance they have the choice to do this, also if for some reason one of their players cannot attend a gig they can use recordings to step in meaning they could carry on with their gigs and have a lot more

Jazz is as beautiful and is considered a grand style of music. Jazz does not have a standard pattern. It is, of course, necessary to say that in any Jazz Band there must be two sections provided instrumentally, the Rhythm Section – Piano, Bass and Drums (or other percussion instrument) – and the Horn Section – any woodwind or brass instrument – and depending on the number of instruments involved do we name the band’s form. Jazz is more flexible in terms of which instruments should be involved and what the music sounds like. Flexibility is a keyword in Jazz, because it relies on improvisation.

Also, slaves from South America arrived at the city, bringing their spirituals and working songs into the New Orleans mix.
