Alzheimer’s disease affects over five million people and is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. A brain of a person with Alzheimer’s disease will have fewer neural cells and connections between those cells than a person without Alzheimer’s will, resulting in decreased memory and a decline in cognitive abilities.
