The novela Night by Elie Wiesel and What I've Learned by Michael Wright relate since the human plights in both pieces of literature were different since Michael survived a horrific event that was for a short period of time and had longer issues off of the event, but Elie’s situation was more complex since his Jewish kind was scapegoated and for a longer period of time. However both were written in first person by survivors of mass killing attacks. Night is a nonfiction text in the form of a book whilst What i've Learned is also nonfiction but a shorter piece, as an account of what Michael had gone through. Its important to recognize that when comparing and contrasting both pieces of literature because in both the author felt the traumatic events. The point of my paper is to compare and contrast the differences and similarities between the way Night by Elie Wiesel and What I’ve Learned by Michael Wright were written content wise and literature wise. On September 11th, 2001 there was two Boeing 767 planes that got Hijacked while flying by two members from a dangerous terrorist group called Al Qaeda. The group members targeted innocent americans as they were not American. Factually the holocaust is essentially the same idea, the Germans targeted the Jews and killed innocent people. There was also major similarities between the way Elie felt and the way Michael felt, both were in a frantic state of mind between life and death. Also in both texts the tone is set to be real and scary due to the harsh word choice. The theme of Night is survival is possible, since Elie has gone through so much it is amazing how at one point he could have just ran into the fence and killed himself but he chose not to and now today he survived the Holocaust.
