Ultimately, anything we do to the earth will cause weakness within it, and we’ll chip away at this incredible planet until eventually, it won’t be able to sustain us, the human race. The more we take from the earth due to our greed will cause problems that don’t have easy fixes to them, and deforestation is one of them. Deforestation is the act of cutting down trees in a certain calculated area which are measured in hectares, but the purpose of cutting down mother nature’s forests isn’t for the trees, it is for the land. Estimations in 2013 describethat 49,000 ha (hectares) were deforested in Canada and most of the land was used for agriculture. The unfavourable outcomes of deforestation in Canada significantly impacts the biodiversity in Canada and contributes to Canada’s overall gas emissions and pollution, but subsequently, helps the industrialization in Canada. The amount of biodiversity we lose due to the abrupt chopping of forests is tragic in Canada and all over the world.

Deforestation causes loss of biodiversity and their resources needed to survive. Animals and organisms living in a forest where they get all their food, water and where their habitat is located get’s taken over by deforestation, many do not survive because they can’t physically adapt to new an environment quickly enough. According to National Geographic, effects of deforestation in most forests causes a decrease in water and soil quality and it also contributes to climate change. Not only because of the pollution that is produced when the trees are burnt down, but, trees take in carbon dioxide (CO2) and produce clean oxygen, so living organisms can breathe, however, we are slowing cutting off our clean oxygen supply and
