I’m a very open-minded, patient and, caring person, but I might not be this person today if it wasn’t for music, acting, and band. These are the perfect three that define me, and who I am today. The rule of three is the principle where everything in threes is perfect. They are books and slogans on the matter; “The Three little Pigs”, and The Three Musketeers. They all fit together in some way and have one common goal. My perfect three all deal with a group of people to either fit the same goal or to be entertained. These things changed my view on the world making me always think creatively, and see color where ever I go. It made me a dreamer, and conqueror of goals.
Musician like: J.Cole, The Weekend, and Michael Jackson. Really gave me my love of music. It helped me escape life for brief moments of time. Different genre of music helps me be open-minded to different experience in my life. I would have never…ever gone on a roller coaster if it wasn’t for music. I also found my love of music from my mom and grandmother, my mom would play a lot of Celine Dione songs in the house, and a lot of Jackson 5 songs as well. My

My band instructor taught me how to have patience and responsibility by doing this he changed me into the person I am today. I remember during class he would make us stay in playing position to teach us how to be patient and to always be on our toes while performing. He would always tell me patience is the key. Patience helps the mind and body. Patience helps you understand people and communicate better. Patience makes you a very good listener. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t learn that message in the 6th grade. Band helped me learn how to balance emotions, and not to be rowdy all the time. Every time I would pick a flute or tuba it would take me back to the most important life lesson I would every learn. “If you are patient in a moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of
Music rehabilitated me when I found myself in a very dark place. It gave me strength and courage and helped me find the words that escaped me for so long. I began teaching myself to play guitar, and started writing songs and journals. Music helped me to express myself and has been the most important part of maintaining my mental
For many years I have been known for being a very talented athlete. But what many people do not know is that I was once in the Elba Marching band. Being in the band has taught me a lot of things, like reading music, discipline and organization. The most interesting thing about the band was that we had to learn how to read music. At first this was a challenge for me, but I soon got the hang of it.
It has introduced me to how black people were treated back then. The connection that I can make to my own life is my love for music. Louis Armstrong improved my life by introducing me to a whole new world of music other than rap and country
At Marcus High School, I stayed involved heavily with band and drumline. These extracurriculars demanded immense time management and a sharp level of focus. During sophomore, junior and senior years, I was able to join the student leadership corps and become the leader of the Snareline, an instrument that requires high concentration in comparison to the rest of the band. I was tasked with making sure the incoming students understood their music, and if unable, I taught them. This position led me to become an understanding leader with the desire for greatness.
Band directors not only teach music, but teach important life lessons that build character such as discipline, dedication, focus, unity, responsibility, and citizenship (Bergseth1). Each are vital to every minute of practice
I realized that the only way I could achieve the results I desired was to work harder, so I focused more energy into my schoolwork and it paid off. I continued to play the flute all through high school, and participating in marching band had an equally important impact on my life. Through marching band, I learned the importance of time management. Rehearsals every day after school, Friday night football games, and Saturday competitions that lasted all day greatly cut the amount of free time I had. In fact, the majority of my free time seemed to disappear, until I started working on my time management skills.
There 's a saying from where I come from, " The devil is wise, not because his the devil. It 's because he 's old" It made me understand how music can make older people happy, and how much it helps them remember. Right now I 'm young, but one day I will be old, and I want to have music when the time comes. Music Is going to help me relive my greatest moments in life. My body won 't move as it did before, but with the power of music I will be
Music can bring the brightest of joys that keeps us moving through our dull and boring lives. An example of this joy is Ishmael Beah’s life as a boy soldier in his book A Long Way Gone. As he tells you his story, he tells of his dance group with his friends, the times he heard music in the middle of war, and how music saved him from the madness that brewed within him. Music has the unique ability to create peace in a person’s life despite the difficulties surrounding them, and to bring a constant reminder of who they are as a person.
I have been in band for 8 years. Words cannot describe how much I have enjoyed the past 8 years. When I chose to join band in 5th grade, I did not know how many friendships I would make from one simple choice. As I got better at playing the flute, the friendships grew stronger. In high school, I was in marching band, so that means more time spent involving band.
I often walk into jazz band at the unreasonably early hour of 7:15 and I silently (and sometimes not as silently) whine and complain about how early it is as I get ready to start. I also tend to be a bit hesitant and grumbly when we have to go outside at eight am in the freezing cold to march in circles while the cows moo encouragingly at us. These are just two of the many times that I take the opportunities that I have for granted. I have been blessed enough to play several instruments inside and out of band class, and I usually do not stop and think about how incredibly lucky I am to be able to do the things that I do. I need to recognize the opportunities that music has provided for me and realize the substantial role that it has played in my life.
As a twenty-four year old in today’s society there is a lot of pressure to be skinny, to wear the best clothes, to have a successful job, and to meet the man of your dreams. If you are not the skinniest, are not wearing designer clothes, are still trying to figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life, and you are the furthest someone could be from meeting the man of their dreams, society makes you feel as though something is wrong with you. If it were not for my relationship with God and understanding of the Bible, I could easily be one of those girls that would believe I needed to be the skinniest, the prettiest, have the best job, and find an amazing boyfriend to feel like I had meaning or a purpose in life. Of course all of those “things” would be
It helps to prevent increased amounts of suicide, which is because of raised quantities of self-harm, throughout America and the world. Also, for those who struggle with addiction involving drugs find comfort and help with this form of Psychotherapy. This therapy brings back the forgotten memories that were once lost to certain mental disorders including Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Physical complications are fixed from the mental portion, and medicine has improved tremendously from the efforts brought by music.
The transforming moment I experienced did not just happen on its own. It was supported by the encouragement of my middle school music teacher. Looking back at that particular moment also made me realize how influential music educators can be to their students which ideally steered me towards the path of becoming a music educator. When I was in middle school I realized that music had to be a part of my life right away, but I did not realize that my music teacher had such an impact on my life choices until now. Everyone has at least one transformative moment in their life yet it can happen at any moment without them even realizing
Band has given me tons of friends and lessons in life that I will remember and carry on with me
Music has always been my passage to a better me. It has allowed me to express myself in ways that are positive. Personally, I have never been the best at expressing feelings that make me feel negative inside but with music my feelings seem to flow right out. A great song that has helped me perceiver and face my challenges would have to be “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” by Hal David and Burt Bacharach for the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The song was recognized and won an Academy award for the best original song.
