Radical thinkers will have to take a smaller role in society. The most influential people spread sexist propaganda. Bridging the gap is changing the messenger. It 's refusal of society to tolerate ignorance of any kind towards another group of people. But we live in an environment where one man 's ear considers trash is another 's pile of gold. I believe everybody is impressionable to what they feed their mind. When you hear yelling on a constant cycle it begins to penetrate into your subconscious. Women are fighting very hard to bridge the pay gap. But in order to make men and women equal we must speak up about how the job market is unfair. I believe if you name the problem, give the solution, and get the community involved in supporting to fix this error then you can make change. Something has to be done because there are too many jobs I can think of where women should be getting paid more than men because they are more qualified for example: a doctor because they have a motherly touch, a counselor or psychiatrist because women are known to listen more, and a physical therapist because women are more sensual with their movement and can display that in a massage. One interesting story to me is the two teachers who formerly did modeling work. The male was praised for winning sexiest man of the year, and the women was fired. The man was a university teacher and the women was a primary school teacher. I just have one question for the parent who found out their child 's teacher was a model in her pass and became concerned about their child 's well being. Does this discredit her teacher credentials? Did the kids know she was a former model until you advertised it to the school board? Those kids went to school to learn from their teacher not figure out what she does in her spare time. As long as she does not dress revealing at school, does her job and is appropriate she should remain working at that establishment. But equality suffers due to the high amount of fear in our society. That a male model does not evoke such a fear and should not be a problem but when a women does we should cast her out. The guys could have still accepted her, but they made a huge deal about it. The guys were not used to seeing a guy dressed like a girl, but it did not give them the right to bully her. They were discriminating against girls who dressed like guys. Jason Dunlap was awarded “employee of the year” four times and has shown remarkable work ethic in his job. His sexual orientation and gender should not and did not impact the work he had accomplished for LaMark Elementary school during his ten years of employment. During this time, the school even recognized him for his outstanding work, regardless of the fact that he is transgender. Undergoing a sex change does not change Jason Dunlap’s work ethic, and therefore is in no way a justification for the intolerance Mr. Dunlap was faced with. This is a problem that should be solved as soon as possible, but at the rate at which the wage gap is narrowing, it could take over a century to close. There are many people that do not agree with fixing this problem by reason of they feel that women’s pay is a woman’s problem. They feel that men should be paid more because women have children, which means they must take off of work on maternity leave, unlike men. This is not fair seeing as how not every woman is not going to have children and need maternity leave. Society genuinely views women as nurturers more than anything, while men are seen as hard-workers or the breadwinner.

The administration and teachers think the dress code is just fine even if it means that the student will have to miss their classes. The dress code is unfair and females are told that they are distractions for boys and the class. Females are told that they will be a distraction to boys if they wear leggings or if their shoulders can be seen, but has anyone ever heard a boy say “Man those are some nice shoulders!” I never have. Women cannot express themselves as easy because of the restrictions they have on the clothing they can wear.
The year the Equal Pay Act was passed into law (1963) the wage gap between a man and women working full time was 41 cents with women making 59 cents for every dollar a man earned. Since then, the income disparity has decreased by almost 50 percent. In 2014, the wage gap was 21 cents with women making 79 cents for every dollar a man earned (The Wage Gap Over Time). This 20 cent decrease in the wage gap since 1963 shows how significant of a difference the Equal Pay Act and its enforcement through Corning Glass Works v Brennan, along with other court cases, have been. Any girl who has attended a public high school understands the daily dilemma of dress code. On those scorching hot days as the school year approaches summer, many girls can be found scavenging through their closet for a “school appropriate” outfit or one they won’t melt into a sweaty puddle in. Her dresses will show too much leg, her tops will inappropriately expose her shoulder or collar bone, and her shorts will be too short — at least that 's what the school says. Dress code in modern day high schools should be boycotted because they are a violation to student and parents rights, sexist, out of date, a double standard, and they disrupt a female students education. It 's fair to agree with a policy that claims stringent dress codes increase the emphasis on academics and reduce the pressure of socioeconomic status; however, these dress codes violate the students First Amendment right to freedom of expression and the parents’ Fourteenth Amendment right to raise their children in their own way.
