Ray Bradbury shows a clear hatred towards the civilization of fahrenheit 451 for quite a few reasons. Such as the ideas of intellectual books being banned and replaced with movies and videos that require no one to put an thought and just be mindlessly fed information by the government. We know this because the book fahrenheit 451 came out a bit after the end of WWII and hitler burned books like in F451 and the tv age was beginning where many people were buying tvs and less books Bradbury feared this could end the creating of books and that books would be permanently replace.

I believe that one of ray bradbury most powerful ways to establish an alternate reality is characterization. Characterization is the emotion and the mindset of a character. Such as guy montag’s mindset shows love of burning books at the beginning of F451 and the entire society finds this completely acceptable because it says in F451 “with symbolic helmet numbered 451”(1), the symboled number is the temperature needed to burn books. but he slowly realises that he actually loves books. F451 also shows ironies such as when guy’s coworkers show him the handbook of the firemen code explaining the burning of books while it itself is a book. …show more content…

When Mildred’s friend says she keeps voting for him implying that he has been president for awhile, making it sound like a monarchy in addition to their name being noble like the kings and queens of england.
