The topic I chose for my informative speech was gun violence in the United States. I chose this topic so that others may be aware of all the violence related to a firearm and to inform them of the dangers associated with a gun in the United States. Everyday we turn on the news and hear about a new tragedy involving some sort of firearm. Therefore choosing gun violence as the topic for my speech seemed appropriate. I believe my topic opened the eyes of my audience because of the effect it had on them, especially being that I myself was a victim to gun violence and went through the whole ordeal of being hospitalized and all other effects that follows after being shot. Being confident shows your audience you are comfortable talking about your topic and that you are well informed on what you are specking of. Another thing that I can improve on is relaxing, for example, to not be so nervous. If I can think two steps ahead before I speak it would prepare me for what I am about to say which will allow my words to flow out smoothly and correctly. I plan on improving these skills by practicing more speeches in front of people and doing some relaxation exercises before my speech. I believe by implementing more speeches and doing some of the exercises, it will have me more relaxed, keep my mind focused and boost up my confidence so that I may present my speech flawlessly for an A plus grade. I believe during my speech my audience was in odd and in disbelieve as well as surprised due to the fact that, I myself was a victim to gun violence and the general realization of the impact that gun violence has in the U.S. as well as the medical cost and the amount of gun circulating the country. I definitely also believe that my audience felt very informed after hearing my speech and now have a better understanding of guns and their effects in the
