America is a nation where great things happen consistently, but with the good comes the bad. People are judged and criticized everyday for who they are or who they like. This should be changed. In this free country no one should be stripped of what they are because it's different than a majority. If the citizens of America come together and realize being different is not a bad thing, we can begin to heal as a whole nation. Together we can change for the better. America is a country with many strong qualities. Although America is looked up to by countless countries, and idolized by outsiders looking in, for most of citizens that is not the case. We are a free country with many qualities still held from our founding fathers that were laid out
We are not perfect and have a long way to go in terms of accepting entire groups of people who differ from us in only an ascriptive way. At the same time, we’ve come a long way since the beginning of the New World. We have a government with a separation of church and state, we accept people of all (most?) religions and colors, we have much more that bonds us than just a conscious contract to create a minimal government, and most importantly, we have a national community we call our home, America (Bellah, 1985, p.
For America to grow as a country it must first focus on itself more than it does now. Focus on everything that's hindering it from completing what must be done for change to happen. The nation must stand together to get back on track with the way this country be heading. Langston Hughes says it best in Let America Be America Again "Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed—Let it be that great strong land of loveWhere never kings connive nor tyrants schemeThat any man be crushed by one above." (Hughes).
Throughout history America has had a lot of different adversities. America has a long line of history that has not always been absolutely perfect; but yet tries to perfect itself. The early foundations of America started off by pertaining to The British Empire. Being part of the Empire they had perks, but they also had disadvantages. Some Americans wanted more rights as citizens while others felt America would be better off standing as its own country.
America is a country of great diversity, but many people are not treated fairly, and have not been for years. Even to this day many Americans black and white are discriminated for their skin color or beliefs. This is a problem that has been going on for many centuries, and it is still apparent that to this day civil liberties from the past are still not resolved. Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King Jr., and Frederick Douglass were all black rights activists, and in their lifetimes they affected many people black and white, yet the civil liberties from the past are still yet to be resolved.
In order to fix America, changes need to be made to our immigration policies, gun control, and prices on education. There are an abundance of things that any average Joe could say are wrong with America. Fixing America, however, is a major league task. Firstly, the current gun control policies just isn’t going to cut it.
As things settle down as well there hasn’t really been much to tweak the opinion of others. To end this off this really shows how changes in history and time may change people 's thoughts on America 's identity. Opinions on American identity are very scrambled rather through time or beliefs. Whether it be the slave ages, my grandma 's time, or my time, opinions change, and as opinions change new ones are created.
Through history, especially the events of The Civil Rights Movement, September 11th, and our present day; America has not lived up to these founding ideals. From the very beginning, America’s minority groups were institutionally oppressed and silenced, but the largest push for equality was The Civil Rights movement; almost fifteen years of fighting to be recognized as equals. Acts were passed, and in time America became truly equal. Right? Evidence says otherwise.
Even though there are still many conformists, America has come a long way in trying to change its viewpoints on
Over the past few weeks we've analyzed many different forms of government and philosophers from Western Civilization. It's interesting to see all the different ideas proposed, and by analyzing different forms of government from a normative standpoint, I'm beginning to gather my own opinions regarding the most effective form of government. I'm also beginning to notice different ideas from different philosophers intertwined with our government today. All of these new ideas and concepts are challenging my original perspective on our current government, and I actually find myself questioning whether or our countries leaders are making the best decisions, and what we can do to "Make America Great Again", a famous slogan of our current president
I think that people shouldn’t hold that against them because it’s not the way they want to be or to ask but that 's the way they are now. That is what I think America should be like. It should be trustworthy and dependable. I believe that America should stand for honesty there is people
America is falling to pieces: were voting for a president that's simply funny instead of one that could change our country for the better; People are being harmed, not because they have done something wrong, simply because they are being themselves; teenagers are killing themselves because of the cruelty of society and their peers; children are obese and rather play on their parent's smartphone than play with outside with their toys or friends. The people who notice these problems and are trying to fix them are making little progress. Some people are noticing the problems and they will be the ones to change America for the better, although not enough people are noticing and wanting to change for the better so there is little progress. The people who are helping often sympathize or relate to the people being hurt for who they are.
There are far too many parallels between ancient Rome and modern America. It seems as if many people do not care enough about the path our country is headed down. Ethics and values have gone out the window, the government has doomed the working class, people have become violent, people are acting without fully thinking and war is constant. America needs a change before it is too late. Ethics and values have merely disappeared but when they are present they seem to be hypocritical.
I believe that America is a bad country. America is not a good country because it has a large amount of violence, lack of opportunities, and so much discrimination. Indeed, America is a bad country because it has a large amount of violence. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear about someone who got murdered.
All nations at one point have experienced a few different types of challenges in their history. America suffered through plenty of challenges throughout its history that have been overcome. America has been through many obstacles, but they were only realized after the problem was solved or confronted. These challenges include slavery, women’s rights, tyrants, terrorists, and innumerable more. Though confronted with challenges throughout America’s history, the main three obstacles in America today is the divisions between the public, sensitivity of some individuals, and sense of entitlement among some of the youth.
What do you think about our nation today? Are you satisfied with the standard of living? What if the government is hiding something from you? Today, United States is corrupted. In the history textbook, it sounds like our nation is the best and the greatest, but when you find the truth about of our nation, it makes a total difference.
