Children are very fragile for a certain time, and many during the revolution became deformed or worse. For example “C: you are considerably deformed in person as a consequence of this labor? B: Yes I am.” (Document 7). This shows that some children weren’t properly cared for in their job. They later made rules to better the working environment for men and women. During the Industrial Revolution, Europeans were mass producing products in factories. When they began to run out of resources, they looked to Africa. They had the means to travel there because of new ships built in the Industrial Revolution. Seven countries split it among themselves (Document A-2) and built empires and enslaved the natives. The main ways the Industrial Revolution affected imperialism were cultural and social beliefs, followed by military and technology, and to a lesser extent politics.
The 19th century brought factories that could mass-produce products with machines and workers assigned to different tasks. This sparked the Industrial Revolution. Britain was the first nation to be industrialized. They built factories and made money from them and built more factories making the nation industrialized. America became industrialized due to Thomas Jefferson’s Embargo Act and the War of 1812.
The Industrial Revolution was a huge part of American history, but, many people do not realize how greatly our geography assisted the growth of the industry. England, where the revolution began, contains a majority of resources, similar to the states,that helped the industrial revolution greatly (Document 4). A few of the being coal, which has a source of energy; cotton and wool, both used to create textiles; iron, lead, and tin, all metals used to build factories and machinery (Document 1). Changes in agriculture also helped a great deal to get the Industrial Revolution on its feet.
A male factory employee familiar with his female coworkers noted that many women still had children at a young age, during their teenage years (Doc 4). Women also tended to have a large number of children, common when peasants worked on farms and needed as many bodies to help tend to the animals as they could get. However, since women now worked in an urban setting outside of the home, conflicts arose when they needed to care for young children. This led to small children being brought to work with their mothers, although this usually occurred with women working in fields, not factories, given the harmful environment of the factories (Doc 1). American Industrial Revolution- The American Industrial Revolution was a period, from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840, that was considerably vital to the economic development of the United States. With this revolution, the result was the replacement of an economy based on manual labor with one dominated by industry and machine manufacture. In the Industrial Revolution, spinning and weaving machines operated by waterpower were replaced by steam. Advances in agricultural techniques and practices resulted in an increased supply of food and raw materials.

Many people, usually inspectors and reporters, had noticed the troubled and hazardous state that many small children were working in. They’ve contributed to the recognition of the dangerous working conditions to the Parliament. This later resulted in the Parliament granting factory workers, the Factory Acts, and the School Sites Acts.

he Industrial Revolution overall had a positive effect on happiness in the workplace, village space, and resources for workers. The first example that shows it was positive is that the children were happy and had never been beaten in work. According to the 3rd document it says “They seemed to always be cheerful and alert” this tells me that it was positive because the children never got beat and they were always happy and cheerful to be at work which could cause better work ethic. Another positive thing is that in the village they were given more places to stay and they were fed and clothed.
Source twenty shows that families, including pregnant women and children, all had to work long hours, came home exhausted and the children could earn as little as three pence per day. But the salary was very poor for the indentured servants during not improving much of their quality of life. People were paid very little as 50¢for 10 hours of work if they were lucky. With families not making enough, kids young as 10 years old, would learn a trade in the matter of weeks to begin working because of the demand of products. The cost of living was such little $4.00 a week for rent although during this time was unaffordable by most families so the kids pay, even with it being so little would help with the family’s expenses. In the late 1700 's and early 1800 's, power-driven machines replaced hand labor for making most manufactured items. Child labor was a great concern in the Industrial revolution but very few people did something to stop it. Women and Children were forced to work more than 10 hours a day with only forty minutes to have lunch. Elizabeth Bentley once said that they didn’t have any time to have breakfast or drink anything during the day. They worked standing up and if they didn’t do their work on time they were strapped (whipped). Children were treating like they were not important, like they didn’t deserve a better life.
