Topic: Great White Sharks
Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about great white sharks.
Thesis Statement: I am going to tell you about its habitat, its behavior, and some common misconceptions about them.
Introduction: “Out there is a Perfect Engine, an Eating Machine that is a miracle of evolution – it swims and eats and makes little baby sharks, that’s all.” This is a quote from a movie you’ve probably seen called Jaws. This quote explains the beauty of the great white shark.
Credibility: I have been intrigued by the great white ever since I watched Jaws. I had some previous knowledge of the shark but I became interested by the one of the largest ocean predators and so I furthered my research.
Relevance: I am here today to help you

I. To understand the great white, you must first know where it lives.
A. According to National Geographic, great whites are found in cool, coastal waters around the world (Society).
1. Some of these places include Australia, Africa, and even the United States of America.
2. The great white sharks have one of the widest geographic ranges of any marine animal.
B. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration states that great whites can be seen as shallow as 5.5 meters and as deep as 366 meters off the coast of California (Shark Habitat Studies).
1. The NOAA also states that most of these sharks can be seen at the Farallon Islands where they feed on seals and sea lions (Shark Habitat Studies).
2. The NOAA recently tracked four great white sharks for 4-6 months (Shark Habitat Studies).
a. These sharks originally were going through a near-shore phase.
b. They then moved offshore where they remained exclusively pelagic, this means they were neither close to the bottom of the ocean or near the shore (Shark Habitat Studies).
Transition: Now that you understand where the great white shark can be found, let’s talk about how it
As human beings we visit the Waikiki Aquarium and only see the place as a paradise home for the Hawaiian Monk Seals. We do not put ourselves into the perspective of the marine animal and see the aquarium through their eyes. My story, “Bumping Into Glass Walls” promotes the idea that we may think the Hawaiian Monk Seals enjoy the aquarium but that could be a false statement. We can come to a conclusion that the Hawaiian Monk Seals do not want to be at the aquarium but end up there because of threats in the Pacific Ocean.
Sharks rely on their fins to swim and allow water to
Most Kermode bears live on Princess Royal and Gribbell Islands. They also live along the rain forest coast of British Columbia. Only about 20 percent of the bears are white, but all the rest of
They were first introduced to the Great lakes in 1988 but were originally from Russian and Ukraine lakes. The Zebra Mussels were first found in Lake St. Claire (one of the 5 great lakes) which within one year they rapidly spread to almost all of the Great Lakes except Lake Superior. This is because Lake Superior is not the ideal
That alone is one of the main reasons sharks are so feared
Evolution of Hammerhead Sharks Hammerhead sharks are an interesting species of shark. They carry an odd appearance with their “hammer” shaped heads, which is much different than all other species of shark. Most scientists suggest that the earliest ancestor of hammerhead sharks appeared about twenty-million years ago in the Miocene Era. There were two other lineages of sharks that actually broke off from the hammerhead, the winghead shark and the bonnethead shark.
The Great Hammerhead Shark has many physical attributions that make the species unique to other sharks. Perhaps its most well-known anatomical feature, the flat and t-shaped cephalophoil, aids the Great Hammerhead in catching prey. Ampullae of Lorenzini on the hammer-shaped head sense hidden prey, which especially benefits the hunting of stingrays. The variations within the cephalophoils differentiate hammerheads from each other. In addition, wide-set eyes give The Great Hammerhead shark a greater, more enhanced range of sight.
Dolphins like to live in the Atlantic and Indian ocean. You can also find them near harbors, lagoons, and bays. If necessary dolphins will go somewhere else to survive as long as the water is 45 degrees and up. Hammerheads like tropical waters which is central pacific and central Atlantic ocean. They also like to be on the coast line.
Their bodies have learned to adapt to its surroundings in order to survive. Despite their appetite and aggressive reputation bull sharks can be docile in certain environments. In the aqua clear waters of the Bahamas, divers regularly interact with crowds of bull sharks (National Geographic News). In Genesis 1:21 it says, "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good." God created everything with a specific purpose.
(Shark Savers “450 MIllion Years of Sharks”). The sharks that were around back then were almost like the fish that fishermen lie about and say they caught, comparing those sharks to one’s the sharks seen now is like comparing a garden snake to an
Well in both movies as you can see the animal seems in control of the people like in jaws the shark seem to be really smart because everything that the Capitan Quint try to do to the shark seem like a game for the white shark because he was in control at that moment. But it was impossible to kill the smart shark because I think he knew every move that they did to try to kill the shark. Else I think he knew the island around him because he knew were the people went or when they were in the water. The tyrannosaurus rex seem in control at the Jurassic park because every time the tyrannosaurus did damage to the people or the surface around him, the people never had the right tool to kill the animal or stop it and when you do not kill an animal
There are several interesting underwater animals in the earth 's oceans. Several of them have only recently been discovered. Some like the zombie worms have baffled scientists. Others like the deep sea jellyfish have just shocked scientists. Then, there are some like the yeti crabs, which have just confused scientists with how they survive in the hydrothermal vents near Antarctica.
Let’s start off with where it lives. It lives in wetlands, swamps and upland forests. They can be seen in Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Its habitat is a diversity of warm climates. They must live in an area with a fairly big water source
During our last two summer holidays, my sister and I took a trip to Nova Scotia, Canada. The greatest tides in the world, we heard, are in the Bay of Gundy between Maine and Canada. Last Tuesday, Mr.Pitts explained that at low tide water retreats, uncovering many fascinating sights. He said,"You can see crabs, starfish, urchins, clams, and many varieties of seaweed. "
Hi! , I’m Wil. Today I’m going to talk about Bass fishing. Bass are a very fun fish to catch, and I will try to cover most of this topic today. The first thing I want to talk about is Bass Habitat and food source.
