The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey Murder. Murder is the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. JonBenét was executed by someone watching her every move up until that point. A six year old beauty pageant participant, murdered harshly in her home by someone preying upon her as if they were a lion. Maybe someone was in the state of jealousy and anger that they murdered her because they wanted what she had. Her murder was one of the stories that began the chain of crimes soon to be uncovered. A kidnapping or family tied murder are two theories that are possible in this case. Even if JonBenét’s case is cold, her murder is still not justified. JonBenet was the six-year-old daughter of Pasty and John Ramsey (Saferstein, 2015). This family, including JonBenet’s nine year old brother Burke, lived in Boulder, Colorado and sometime during December 25-26, 1996, JonBenet was murdered most likely inside the home (Saferstein, 2015). Pasty Ramsey maintains after a party with friends and family she put JonBenet to
On May 23, 1957, three police officers in the city of Cleveland, Ohio knocked on the door of Dolly Mapp and held up a piece of paper that wasn’t the warrant that gave them access inside. The three officers gave Mapp very little information as to why they were there. The real reason they were there was because an anonymous phone tip stated that Virgil Ogletree, a suspect of a recent bombing, was
Now the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey was a gruesome one, first Jon Benet was hit in the head with enough force to crack her skull open perfect enough, evidence shows that it was a flashlight because when it impacted it made a almost rectanuglar shape in the head. Second there was strangulation marks around her neck
This paper will consist of an analysis of the case presented in the podcast Serial. The podcast Serial is based on a first degree murder case in Baltimore, Maryland, USA that took place on January 13th, 1999. The case consisted of Adnan Syed, a 17-year-old Muslim boy attending his final year of high school being charged with the first degree murder of his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. 16 years later, Adnan is adamant that he did not commit the crime, however he is still serving a life sentence for her death. In relation to the case, alibi believability, polygraphs, psychopathy, interrogations, inconsistencies within Jay’s story and confessions will be discussed throughout this paper.
CBS had created a documentary about the JonBenet Ramsey case twenty years later. Throughout the article, there are many accusations of family members in the house on who could have killed JonBenet. The list went from the mother, father, and her own brother. The whole family seemed to have strange reactions to the death of a close family member which made them suspects in the murder. Even to this day, we still do not have a guilty suspect, but if the public had to point its finger at someone, it would most likely be the brother Burke Ramsey.
The hunt for the Clutters’ killers, Dick Hickock and Perry Smith, mesmerized the nation and left a lasting impact in Kansas, drawing journalists from across the country to the rural outpost on the Kansas prairie (Huffington Post). An unremarkable New York Times article, which was considerably small and short, at approximately 300 words, grabbed viewers and drew the audience. The column reported the Clutter family murder in the tiny farm town of Holcomb, Kansas on the Great Plains. “Popular headlines surrounding the Clutter family murders were often along the lines of ‘Wealthy Farmer, 3 Of Family Slain” with a photo of Herb Clutter which left residents in shock and dismay that a horrific crime marred the serene and presumably safe landscapes
Murder, the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. Premeditated means that the killing of the person was planned out, this helps support that Adnan Syed is not guilty. In 1999 an eighteen year old girl named Hae Min Lee went missing from Baltimore, Maryland. Her ex boyfriend Adnan Syed was accused of murdering her and disposing her body in Leakin park. The problem is that all the evidence used to persecute Adnan does not add up to make a strong case.
On May 2, 1998 there was a murder and robbery at a Popeye’s Fried Chicken restaurant in Pensacola, Florida. Cynthia Harrison was an assistant manager and was scheduled to work with Timothy Hurst at eight that morning. When other workers showed up at 10:30 they found the door locked. Tonya Crenshaw, another assistant manager, found the safe unlocked and open with money missing. A delivery driver found Harrison’s dead
The case begins on June 12th,1994 when Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman are stabbed to death. Their bodies found in the front courtyard of Nicole's condominium in Brentwood. Oj is taken into custody and pleads “not guilty” to both criminal charges. However, there are several crucial pieces of evidence that suggest otherwise. Some evidence that suggest that Oj was responsible for the murders include; Neighbors witnessing Oj driving away from the murder scene around the time of the murder, DNA test proving that three of the blood stains found near the rear gate of Nicole's house belonged to Oj Simpson, Oj had an alby for every hour of the day except the time that the murder took place, and many more implicating pieces of evidence.
The Murder of the Hollywood Starlet A young hollywood starlet was brutally murdered in 1947 with no killer identified to this day. This is real case that still puzzles investigators today. The woman in question was named Elizabeth Short, but is more widely known as the “Black Dahlia.” She was given this nickname by the press because of the sheer, black clothing she tended to wear (“The Black Dahlia Murder - Read All about it in FBI Records.”).
I strongly believe that JonBenet's brother Burke initiated the murder and the father John finished it. Burke's mental capacity is questionable due to his jealousy of his sister. At times, he would exhibit rambling speech and admit to the crime. Another factor that Burke is the primary killer is that JonBenet's autopsy
On August 26, 1990 in Shepard, Alberta, Heavenfire killed her husband, Derrick John Falardeau, after being in an intoxicated altercation that evening. Before the death of Falardeau, both were seen at a bar, where they were asked to leave because of their fighting (Sheehy, 2014, p.129). A witness, Kathy Kennedy, saw Falardeau punch Heavenfire in the face repeatedly before driving away. A short time later, Heavenfire called 9-1-1 to report that she had shot Falardeau in the head (Sheehy, 2014, p.129). Heavenfire was charged with second-degree murder and went to trial to try and plea her case with a battered woman’s defense.
In 1892, a young woman named Lizzie Borden was accused of murdering her father and stepmother (“Lizzie Borden on Trial” 2). This accusation was influenced by the lack of evidence at the scene of the crime. There appeared to be no murder weapon, very few witnesses, and the house did not show any signs of an intruder (“Lizzie Borden on Trial” 5). Once the scene was investigated, it was determined that the cause of death for both victims was multiple blows to the head by an axe. Two axes were found in the home, and neither had a speck of blood (“Lizzie Borden on Trial” 14).
"(“Jailed for murder”). She was a social worker who was 49 years old when she lost her life. The first person to discover the body was Mr. Bench who was a firefighter. The connection to her was that Mr. Bench had a brother that dated her, but they had broken up two months prior to crime. Bench eventually became a suspect.
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, except for the Ramsey family. On December 26th, 1996, JonBenet Ramsey was reported missing. Hours later, her body was found in the basement. Extensive investigation followed, but many errors were made and the crime scene was polluted by friends and family. JonBenet Ramsey’s death has erroneously gone 20 years without being solved and no indictments have been issued; because of the strange ransom note, the state of her body, and the unsubstantiated counterclaims, the Ramsey family should have been charged.
